A hybrid vehicle includes a multi-cylinder engine, an exhaust gas control apparatus, an electric motor, an electricity storage device, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the electric motor so as to cover a driving power shortage resulting from execution of catalyst temperature raising control. The catalyst temperature raising control is control that involves stopping fuel supply to at least one of cylinders of the multi-cylinder engine and enriching air-fuel ratios for the other cylinders than the at least one cylinder.

Hybrid vehicle and control method thereof

A vehicle includes a power generation device including at least a multi-cylinder engine, the power generation device being configured to output drive power to wheels, an exhaust gas control apparatus including a catalyst for removing exhaust gas from the multi-cylinder engine, and a control device configured to execute catalyst temperature increase control for stopping fuel supply to at least one cylinder and supplying fuel to remaining cylinders in a case where a temperature increase of the catalyst is requested during a load operation of the multi-cylinder engine, execute control such that the power generation device supplements insufficient drive power due to the execution of the catalyst temperature increase control, and decrease an amount of evaporative fuel introduced into an intake pipe by an evaporative fuel treatment device during the execution of the catalyst temperature increase control compared to a case where the catalyst temperature increase control is not executed.

An ECU corrects a fuel addition interval, based on an amount of change between an exhaust gas temperature at present and a basic exhaust gas temperature obtained when a basic addition interval is set, to reduce the fuel addition interval with an increase in the amount of change in the exhaust gas temperature. With such correction of the addition interval, when the exhaust gas temperature is increased in a highland region or the like, the fuel addition interval is corrected to be reduced and an fuel addition amount is corrected to be increased according to the increase in the exhaust gas temperature. Thereby, an increase in a temperature at a tip portion of a fuel addition valve can be suppressed, and thus clogging of an ejection hole of the fuel addition valve with deposits can be avoided.

Exhaust gas purification device

A vehicle control apparatus includes a controller. When predetermined conditions are satisfied, the controller executes a neutral control that forcibly places an automatic transmission in a substantially neutral state, the predetermined conditions including the shift position of the automatic transmission being in the drive position. When it is determined that the amount of exhaust matter accumulated in a catalyst provided in an exhaust system of a vehicle has exceeded a first reference value, the controller executes a catalyst heating control that increases the temperature of the catalyst so as to remove the exhaust matter accumulated in the catalyst. When it is determined during the catalyst heating control that the amount of the exhaust matter accumulated in the catalyst has exceeded a second reference value that is larger than the first reference value, the controller prohibits the execution of the neutral control.

Vehicle control apparatus and method

In a transient state, where the temperature at the distal end of a fuel adding valve enters a high temperature region, an addition amount for preventing clogging is not simply added in accordance with a map, but instead, delay in the rise of the temperature of the fuel adding valve in the transient state is taken into consideration, and the addition amount for preventing clogging is calculated on the basis of the elapsed time after the point in time when the temperature at the distal end of the fuel adding valve enters the distal end high temperature region and the drive state of the engine (for example, the number of rotations of the engine), and thus, addition is carried out (steps STto ST). Such addition control makes it possible to add an appropriate fuel addition amount for the rise in temperature of the fuel adding valve in the transient state, and thus, wasteful fuel addition is reduced.

Fuel addition apparatus

An exhaust gas purification system for an internal combustion engine can quickly recover the exhaust gas purification ability of an exhaust gas purification device by increasing opportunities to release the SOx occluded in the exhaust gas purification device. In the exhaust gas purification system having the exhaust gas purification device having the property of occluding the SOx in the exhaust gas emitted from the internal combustion engine and collecting particulate matter contained in the exhaust gas, when the load of the internal combustion engine falls within a load range in which SOx poisoning recovery control can be executed, during the time when the particulate matter is oxidized and removed by collection ability regeneration control (S), the collection ability regeneration control is interrupted and the SOx poisoning recovery control is executed (S, S).

Exhaust gas purification system for internal combustion engine

Removal of fine particles by oxidation or/and sulfur poisoning recovery control may be required when an internal combustion engine has been in an extremely low load state for a predetermined period or more. In this case, the engine speed of the internal combustion engine () is adjusted to a range where the temperature of a filter () can be raised by heat-up control. The heat-up control is then executed by a filter temperature control means to raise the temperature of the filter () to a predetermined value. When the filter () reaches the predetermined temperature by means of low-temperature combustion, post-injection, VIGOM-injection, addition offuel to an exhaust system and the like, removal of fine particles by oxidation or/and sulfur poisoning recovery control for eliminating sulfur poisoning of a NOx absorbent are conducted. Removal of PMs captured by the filter and sulfur poisoning recovery control of the NOx absorbent can thus be conducted even if the internal combustion engine is left in an extremely low load operational state.

Exhaust gas purifying device and method for internal combustion engine

An exhaust emission control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is capable of suppressing a nasty smell due to the hydrogen sulfide generated upon recovery from SOx poisoning. The exhaust emission control apparatus includes an NOx storage-reduction catalyst, a reducing agent supplying section for supplying a reducing agent to the NOx catalyst, an SOx poisoning recovering section for recovering the NOx catalyst from its SOx poisoning by varying the oxygen concentration of an exhaust by means of reducing agent supplying section, a hydrogen sulfide concentration estimating section for estimating a concentration of hydrogen sulfide in an atmosphere into which the hydrogen sulfide is discharged, and an estimated concentration derived reducing agent supply amount control section for decreasing an amount of reducing agent to be supplied in accordance with the increasing concentration of hydrogen sulfide estimated by the hydrogen sulfide concentration estimating section while the NOx catalyst is recovered from the sulfur oxide poisoning.

Exhaust emission control apparatus and method for internal combustion engine

A NOx catalyst in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine is capable of lean burn and adapted to release and reduce absorbed NOx by a reducing agent. Reducing agent supplier is provided in the exhaust passage on the upstream side of the NOx catalyst. A load detector detects the load of an internal combustion engine. Reducing agent addition controller controls the reducing agent addition period and the reducing agent addition interval based on the load of the internal combustion engine, whereby sufficient reducing agent is supplied to the NOx catalyst side independently of the operating condition.
