A control device for a vehicle lamp controls an adjustment of an optical axis angle of a vehicle lamp provided with a vibration generating source that vibrates at a first frequency, and the control device includes an acceleration sensor provided in the vehicle lamp and configured to sample an acceleration at a second frequency that is a non-integral multiple of the first frequency, a receiving unit that receives a signal indicating an output value from the acceleration sensor, and a controlling unit that executes control of adjusting the optical axis angle of the vehicle lamp on the basis of the output value from the acceleration sensor.

A tilt sensor housing case includes a main body part including a housing space and an opening portion and a lid part configured to close the opening portion. The lid part has a first engaging portion extending along an outer surface of the main body part. The main body part has a second engaging portion on the outer surface corresponding to the first engaging portion. The lid part is mounted to the main body part by a snap-fit coupling using the elasticity of the lid part and locked to the main body part by the engagement of the first and second engaging portions. The main body part has a first protrusion and a second protrusion that are positioned to sandwich the first engaging portion between them, and each of the first and second protrusions protrudes at least up to the same height as the first engaging portion.

A vehicle lamp system having a leveling mechanism for controlling the posture of a reflector RF and a stepping motor as a driving source of the leveling mechanism. The lamp system has a detector which may determine whether an external force, such as a vibration or a shock is given to the reflector RF or if there is a possibility that the vibration or shock may be given to the reflector. A rotor is prevented from being deviated from the original position by exciting each phase coil of the stepping motor with the same excitation phase as the last excitation phase at the time when the stepping motor was last driven or otherwise a coil in only one of the last excitation phases at the time when the stepping motor was last driven, and before vibration or a shock is given to the reflector RF after the coils in the respective phases are totally set to a non-excited condition in the stepping motor

An apparatus for leveling a vehicle lamp such that an opening of the pivot receiving body is formed in a non-circular shape; the cross sectional shape of the pivot body in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the pivot body is formed so that the pivot body can be inserted into the opening of the pivot receiving body in at least one direction; and the cross sectional shape of the pivot body cannot be inserted into the opening of the pivot receiving body in at least the other direction; and the pivot body is prevented from slipping off the pivot receiving body by turning the pivot body by a predetermined angle around the axis of the pivot body after the pivot body is inserted into the pivot receiving body.

Levelling apparatus for vehicle lamp

A glare sensor includes a light condensing means for condensing light beams from the fore scene and photo sensing element for sensing the light beams from the light condensing means. The photo sensing element is constructed with photodiodes. Blue filters are selectively coupled with the photodiodes. With provision of the blue filters, the glare sensor is able to discriminate red light from white light or yellow light. The output signals of the photodiodes with the blue filters and the photodiodes with no filters are used for detecting the direction and color of the light coming from the fore scene. With this, the glare sensor is capable of detecting forerunning cars, oppositely running cars and traffic lights.

Glare sensor for a vehicle

In the rear of a collimator lens there is disposed a reflector having a bulb serving as a light source, and a shade is interposed between the collimator lens and bulb. The reflector is mounted by means of a guide engagement mechanism, which is arranged such that guide pins provided in the front edge portion of the reflector are pivotally and slidably engaged with a plurality of guide grooves formed in a guide plate fixed on the side of the collimator to thereby be able to deflect an optical axis. The guide engagement mechanism controls or displaces the reflector by use of a control motor. The shade is fixedly secured on the side of the collimator lens.

Variable light distribution type headlamp

A projection headlamp for vehicles has a substantially elliptical reflector 14, a light source (bulb) located at the first focal point F1 of the reflector 14, a projection lens 16 disposed in front of the reflector 14, and a shade 20 located at a position near to the second focal point F2 and the focal point of the projection lens 16. The shade 20 partially intercepts light beams going from the reflector 14 toward the projection lens 16. The shade 20 is allowed to turn about the horizontal shaft 23 of the reflector 14 to adjust the beam distribution pattern. The shade 14 includes right and left shades 21 and 22, which are separated and horizontally extended when seen from the point substantially right under the optical axis L, and are allowed to independently turn about the horizontal shaft 23.

Projection headlamp for vehicles

A projection headlamp for cars has a substantially elliptical reflector 14, a light source 12 located at the first focal point of the reflector 14, a projection lens 16 disposed in front of the reflector 14, and a shade 20 located at a position near to the second focal point of the reflector 14 and the focal point of the projection lens 16, and the shade 20 partially intercepting light beams going from the reflector 14 toward the projection lens 16. The shade 20 is formed of a tubular member having a step 23 for forming preset light beam distribution patterns. The step 23 spirally extends on the circumferential outer surface of the tubular member in the axial direction. The shade 20 is rotatable about the horizontal shaft 24 of the reflector 14. With the rotation of the shade 20, a step position of the distribution pattern horizontally slides.

Vehicular projection-type headlamp

A projection head lamp for vehicles comprises a substantially elliptical reflector 14, a light source located at the first focal point of the reflector 14, a projection lens 16 disposed in front of the reflector 14, and a shade 20 located at a position near to the second focal point and the focal point of the projection lens 16, the shade 20 intercepting light beams going from the reflector 14 toward the projection lens 16. The shade 20 may be turned about the horizontal shaft. To adjust the beam distribution pattern, the shade 20 is turned. The shade 20 consists of left and right shades 21 and 22, which are separated and horizontally extended when seen from the point right under the optical axis. The shades 21 and 22 have pairs of shade plates 212 and 213, and 222 and 223, of which the extended parts extending along the horizontal shaft overlap with one another.
