A power transmission apparatus is provided with a first rotational member, a second rotational member, a clutch device for coupling a power transmission between the first rotational member and the second rotational member, and a ring shape actuator of the clutch device. A rotational axis of one of the first rotational member and the second rotational member penetrates through a radially internal space of the ring shape actuator.

Power transmission apparatus

A power interrupting apparatus is provided with: a first rotating member, a second rotating member, a clutch device adapted to interrupt a coupling between the first rotating member and the second rotating member, and an actuator adapted to actuate the clutch device. The actuator is disposed on a radially outer periphery of a part of one of the first rotating member and the second rotating member.

Power interrupting apparatus and power transmitting apparatus

A bevel gear used in a differential device for a vehicle is comprised of: a body having an axis, a conical pitch surface around the axis, an opposite surface opposed to the conical pitch surface, and a side surface around the axis; gear teeth formed on the pitch surface, each of the gear teeth having a top land projecting from the pitch surface; and clutch teeth formed on the opposite surface, each of the clutch teeth having a bottom land standing back from the opposite surface, each of the bottom lands of the clutch teeth being aligned with any of the top lands of the gear teeth in a line parallel to the axis.

Bevel gear and differential device therewith

A clutch device is used in combination with a differential device. The clutch device is comprised of: a clutch housed in and rotatable with the differential device and axially movable from a disengaged state into an engaged state; a plunger slidably fit on the differential device and being axially movable from a first position where the plunger does not force the clutch to a second position where the plunger forces the clutch into the engaged state; an anti-rotated solenoid configured to drive the plunger; and a retainer supported by the differential device and in contact with both the plunger at the first position and the solenoid, whereby the plunger is barred from going beyond the first position and the solenoid is axially positioned in place.

Clutch device

A differential device differentially distributes a driving force to first and second axles. The differential device is comprised of a differential gear set configured to allow differential motion between the first and second axles, a casing rotatable about an axis, the casing housing and being drivingly coupled with the differential gear set and including a first end wall, a second end wall axially opposed to the first end wall, and a side wall disposed radially outward, which in combination with the first end wall and the second end wall defines a chamber configured to house the differential gear set, a clutch engageable with the differential gear set, a solenoid configured to drive the clutch, which is disposed adjacent to the first end wall, and a magnetic core fixed to the solenoid. The magnetic core is comprised of a sleeve portion snugly and slidably fitting around an outer periphery of the side wall to radially position the core and the solenoid in place.

Differential device

A clutch devicehas a diff caserotatable with drive torque, side gearsto which the drive torque is transferred from the diff case, a clutch ringheld in constant connection to the diff caseand axially movable to the side gearsto be intermittently coupled thereto, and an electromagnetic actuatoroperative to axially move the clutch ring. The electromagnetic actuatorincludes an electromagnetic solenoid, and a plungeraxially movable in response to magnetic force of the electromagnetic solenoidfor axially moving the clutch ring. The electromagnetic solenoidis disposed on the diff caseso as not to relatively move in an axial direction, and the diff caseforms a part of a magnetic flux path of the electromagnetic solenoid

Clutch device and differential device using the same

A clutch device is combinable with a rotating device rotating about an axis. The clutch device is provided with a clutch rotatable with the rotating device, a plunger for disengageably engage the clutch, a solenoid for generating a magnetic flux for driving the plunger, a magnetic core slidably fitting on a portion of the rotating device and incompletely enclosing the solenoid to expose the solenoid to the portion, and a support member configured to support the magnetic core to fit with the rotating device in an axial direction along the axis. The magnetic core in combination with the portion of the rotating device and the plunger is so dimensioned as to enclose the solenoid.

Clutch device and differential device therewith

A differential device is provided with a case being capable of rotation around a rotation axis; a differential gear set housed in and drivingly coupled to the case, which includes first and second output gears and is configured to differentially transmit the rotation of the case to the first and second output gears; a clutch configured to controllably limit and free a differential motion between the first and second output gears, which is housed in the case; an actuator configured to actuate the clutch; and a notifying member configured to notify whether the differential motion is limited or freed to an exterior of the case.

A differential device for differentially distributing a driving force to axles along an axis is disclosed. The differential device has a case being capable of rotation about the axis, which includes a flange configured to receive the driving force and a shaft crossing the case perpendicularly to the axis; an opening defined by a peripheral border on an outer periphery of the case so as to allow access into the case, lateral extremities of which is deviated from a center of the shaft toward a direction opposite to the flange along the axis; and a differential gear set housed in and drivingly coupled to the case, the differential gear set including an input gear rotatable around the shaft and output gears so combined with the input gear as to differentially distribute the driving force to the output gears, the output gears being drivingly coupled to the axles.

Differential device for vehicle

The electromagnetic actuator includes an electromagnetic coil configured to provide actuation force in accordance with a solenoid current to be supplied, to a clutch and configured to actuate the clutch to control relative rotation between first and second members. The electromagnetic actuator includes a detector configured to detect the clutch actuated to produce a detection signal. The electromagnetic actuator includes a controller configured to respond to the detection signal from the detector to control the solenoid current.

Electromagnetic actuator, and electromagnetic clutch and differential using the same

A limited slip differential device has differential gears, a clutch to limit the differential function of the differential gears, and a electromagnetic solenoid including a plunger and a coil. The plunger is set to move forward to engage the clutch by electromagnetic force of the coil in a differential limit state and move backward by a return spring to disengage said clutch in a differential limitless state. The plunger contacts with a contacting member in at least one state of the differential limit state and the differential limitless state, and their contact area is set smaller than a facing area between them in at least the one state.

Limited slip differential device

A differential gear mechanism includes a rotatable case driven by torque from an engine, a differential gear set housed in the case for differential distribution of the torque to a pair of output axes, comprising a first clutch, an annular plunger movable in a direction of the rotation axis and an annular electromagnetic actuator for actuation of the plunger in the direction of the rotation axis. The case further comprises a second clutch being slidable in the direction of the rotation axis and the second clutch is actuated by the plunger so as to be engaged with the first clutch.

Differential gear mechanism

An actuatoris disclosed including a stationary member, a rotational memberdisposed for rotating capability with respect to the stationary member, a movable memberdisposed for movements with respect to the rotational member, a drive power sourcerotating the rotational member, and a converting mechanism disposed between the rotational memberand the movable memberto convert rotation of the rotational member to an operating force for an operative unit.

Actuator

An actuator for engagement and disengagement operation of a power transmission device is provided with a first plate being fixed, a second plate being movable in a direction of the engagement and disengagement operation so as to be engaged with the first plate, a third plate disposed opposite to the second plate with respect to the first plate, the third plate being rotatably engaged with the second plate, a drive unit engageable with the third plate so as to rotate the third plate, a cam mechanism converting a rotation of the third plate to a movement of the second plate in the direction of the engagement and disengagement operation and a retaining device restricting a relative rotation range of the third plate with respect to the drive unit. The second plate moved by the cam mechanism drives the power transmission device in the direction of the engagement and disengagement operation so as to intermit a power transmission thereof.
