A repair welding method according to at least one embodiment is for a member in which a first end and a second end of a parent material are connected by welding and includes: a step of removing a portion including at least a part of a first heat-affected zone of an existing welded portion of the member; and a step of performing repair welding after removing the portion. In a cross-section including the parent material and the existing welded portion, all intersection portions between the first heat-affected zone of the existing welded portion and a second heat-affected zone due to the repair welding have an intersection angle between the first heat-affected zone and the second heat-affected zone of 70° to 110°.

A position determining method and a work result management device. A position where work is done inside a space surrounded by surfaces is determined, wherein the position where work is done inside the space is a sidewall, wave receivers that receive an acoustic wave signal are placed at three or more points, which are on the same plane substantially parallel to the sidewall but not collinear with one another and whose position coordinates are known. The signal is transmitted from a wave transmitter that transmits an acoustic wave and is placed at the position on the sidewall where work is done, and the respective arrival times of the signal at the three or more wave receivers that are not collinear with one another are measured to determine the position coordinates of the wave transmitter using the arrival times and the position coordinates of the three or more wave receivers.

Method and apparatus for evaluating damage of metal material

An ultrasonic detecting apparatus includes a transmitting element for emitting an ultrasonic wave toward a surface to be probed inside a sample from a surface of the sample at a predetermined angle. The ultrasonic detecting apparatus also includes a receiving element for receiving the ultrasonic wave reflected from the surface of the sample. The transmitting element and the receiving element are separated from each other on a single pedestal and are movable on the surface of the sample in a direction perpendicular to the surface to be probed. A distance between the transmitting element and the receiving element is arbitrarily changeable.

A connecting clamp includes a heating member which surrounds a portion to be connected of a steel pipe and heats the portion to be connected, and a first clamp section and second clamp section positioned on opposite sides of the portion to be connected and clamping the steel pipe, whereby the portion to be connected is connected by heating the portion to be connected by the heating member while applying pressure to the portion to be connected by the first and second clamp sections. The first and second clamp sections and the heating member are so arranged as to be slidable around the outer surface of the steel pipe from one side of the steel pipe to the other side thereof.
