The present disclosure keeps a topcoat filmfrom having a dentin a portion of its surface corresponding to a pinholeof a resin molded product. A method of the present disclosure includes: applying an undercoat material to a resin molded productto form an undercoat film; applying a topcoat material to a surface of the undercoat filmto form a topcoat film; and thermally curing the topcoat film. A coating material that contains a base resin having a larger volume expansion coefficient than the resin molded productand a granular filler having a smaller volume expansion coefficient than the base resin and a number-average particle size of 2 μm or more to 12 μm or less is used as the undercoat material.

An exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a catalytic layer on a carrier, in which a particle component A and a particle component B are mixed. The particle component A is composed of catalytic-metal-doped CeZr-based mixed oxide powder, and has a particle size distribution with a peak in a particle size range of equal to or greater than 100 nm and equal to or less than 300 nm. A CeO/(CeO+ZrO) mass ratio of CeZr-based mixed oxide is equal to or greater than 30% and equal to or less than 75%. The particle component B is composed of at least one selected from a group consisting of activated alumina powder, Zr-based-oxide-supported alumina powder, and catalytic-metal-undoped CeZr-based mixed oxide powder. At least a part of particles of the particle component B has a particle size larger than that of the particle component A.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst

An exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a Rh-containing catalyst layer provided on a base material. The Rh-containing catalyst layer includes Rh-supporting Zr-based composite oxide in which Rh6 is supported on Zr-based composite oxide containing Zr and a rare earth metal except Ce. The Rh-supporting Zr-based composite oxide has been previously subjected to a reduction treatment.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst and method for producing the same

An exhaust gas purification catalytic material for purifying exhaust gas from an engine includes ZrLaY composite oxide containing ZrOas a main component, 2% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less of LaO, and 2% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less of YO, and Rh is loaded on the composite oxide.

The content of the oxygen storage/release material per 1 L of a substrate in the catalyst layer of the upstream catalystis larger than that in the catalyst layer of the downstream catalyst. The oxygen release amount per a unit amount of the Rh is larger than that for the upper catalyst layer of the upstream catalyst. At least part of the oxygen storage/release material included in the downstream catalyst shows a particle size distribution having a peak particle size smaller than that in the upstream catalyst

An upstream catalyst and a downstream catalyst are disposed in an exhaust passage of an engine. The downstream catalyst contains in the same catalyst layer thereof. Rh-doped CeZrNd mixed oxide particles on which Rh is supported and active alumina particles on which Pt is supported. The upstream catalyst is a three-way catalyst containing an oxygen storage component having a lower oxygen storage capacity than the Rh-doped CeZrNd mixed oxide.

Exhaust gas catalytic conversion system

Catalytic converter comprises a carrier having exhaust gas passages therein, a lower catalytic layer coated over the carrier and comprising hollow oxide powder loaded with catalytic metal, and an upper catalytic layer coated over the lower catalytic layer, directly exposed to exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas passages and comprising solid oxide powder loaded with catalytic metal. The hollow oxide powder may be ceria or alumina base oxide. Further it may be mixed oxide such as Ce&#x2014;Zr mixed oxide or La contained alumina as well.

The present invention relates to an exhaust gas purification catalytic material containing: (a) a mixed oxide containing Ce and Zr for storing and releasing oxygen; and (b) a precious metal catalyst made of one or more kinds of precious metals. The precious metal catalyst comprises a first precious metal catalyst component placed between atoms, at crystal lattice points and/or at oxygen defect sites of the mixed oxide and a second precious metal catalyst component loaded on the surface of the mixed oxide, thereby improving the thermal resistance, oxygen storage capacity and exhaust gas conversion performance of the catalytic material.
