A method for fulfillment of a kit includes a) generating a 3D virtual simulation of a kit using a computer animation tool in a kit fulfillment environment after receiving a kit request from a customer, the 3D virtual simulation formed using 3D virtual models of objects in the kit and reflecting a spatial layout of components packed in a receptacle, the 3D virtual simulation including an interactive animation that dynamically controls a visual rendering of the 3D virtual simulation in response to a user at a user device selectively manipulating the kit or an object; b) providing the customer with remote access to the 3D virtual simulation to use a remote user device to control the visual rendering for a review of the kit; and c) releasing the kit for production and fulfillment of the request after receiving an approval from the customer in conjunction with the review.

Method and system for reducing materials usage associated with document printing

A user of a computerized device creates an item capable of being printed and stores the item within storage of the computerized device. An instruction to perform delayed printing of the item is received from a user of a computerized device when the user is outside a predetermined physical range of at least one printing device. The computerized device detects when the computerized device is within the predetermined physical range of the printing device and, when this occurs, the computerized device provides the user a printing option to print the item on the printing device. If the user selects the printing option, the methods herein forward the item to a conversion device. The conversion device makes the item print ready so that the item can be printed using the printing device. The methods herein then cause the item to be forwarded from the conversion device to the printing device and printed on the printing device.

A print mediator includes an interface module which serves as an interface for a document to be submitted for printing. The interface module communicates with an associated printing infrastructure for acquiring color rendering information for a print queue of the printing infrastructure. A reviewing application receives the acquired color rendering information and generates a visual representation of a document to be submitted for printing based thereon. Problems relating to color rendering by the printing infrastructure are detected and proposals for correction are presented to the submitter by the reviewing application. Each ring may include a plurality of color variants differing from a color component of the selected color by a corresponding amount. Each color variant may be aligned axially based on the color component that differs from the selected color and a magnitude of a difference between the color component of the color variant and the selected color. The print sample may be compared to the reference color. A document may be printed on the printing device using at least the color formula for the selected color.

The presently described embodiments generate a single job that tests multiple image path parameter combinations. The user first selects the part of the document that will be used for the test run. The system then determines all the available image path control parameters and settings that are compatible with the selected document parts. Embodiments herein acquire an image containing text, identify distinct regions of text within the image (using, for example, a document model), and separate sub-images of the image according to the distinct regions of text.
