A disposable absorbent garment for use as a baby diaper and the like includes a pair of differentially stretchable ear members wherein each differentially stretchable ear member comprises a stretchable inner ear portion and a stretchable outer ear portion. A first fastening mechanism on each ear is releasably fastenable to the front of the article, and second fastenable members on the outermost portions of each stretchable ear are fastenable together at the front of the diaper when worn.

Disclosed is an absorbent article, including a pair of containment flaps, which containment flaps are particularly well suited for use on an absorbent article having a relatively narrow crotch. Specifically, the containment flaps include a proximal edge and a distal edge. The proximal edge is adhered to a bodyside liner of the absorbent product with the distal edge being adhered to the bodyside liner at a point outboard of the proximal edge. Alternatively, the proximal edge and distal edge are adhered to the bodyside liner in a manner to form a C-fold in the containment flap. The C-fold may be inboard or outboard facing.

Absorbent article having dual barrier means

A conformable absorbent article has a topsheet that is designed to substantially fully contact the body of the wearer to provide improved performance in managing and containing body wastes. Management and containment of body wastes are improved by several structural elements that can be utilized individually or collectively. Some of these elements are a waste-containment pocket formed between the topsheet and backsheet, an opening in the topsheet for receiving body wastes therethrough, a pair of containment flaps and a pair of side flaps, and an expandable backsheet to retain body wastes therein.

An absorbent article is disclosed for absorbing and retaining human exudate. The article includes an absorbent having a first surface facing the body of a user and a second surface aligned approximately opposite to the first surface. A liquid-impermeable baffle is positioned adjacent to at least the second surface of the absorbent while a fluid-permeable cover is positioned adjacent to at least the first surface of the absorbent. A deodorizing mixture is positioned within the article and is positioned to remain dry for a substantial period of time. The mixture is an anhydrous, non-buffer blend of at least basic and pH neutral odor absorbing particles.
