A socket for the reception of a bulb comprising a housing having a grommet receptacle therein for the acceptance of a grommet in sealing relationship. An electrically conductive wire extends through the grommet for connection to an internal terminal strip of the housing. An integral latch on the housing biases the grommet into its receptacle in the housing and secures the grommet in position therein.

A socket for the reception of a bulb comprising a housing having an elongated cylindrical aperture for the acceptance of a multipurpose resilient grommet in sealing relationship, an electrically conductive wire extending through the central bore of said grommet, and an internal terminal strip that effects wiping of the conductive wire upon insertion and removal of a bulb.

The disclosure relates to a lamp socket having an improved core that facilitates assembly and improved contact of the light bulb with the terminals of the socket. The core is generally cylindrical in shape and has one or more passageways therein adapted to accept and retain complimentary spade terminals. A spring is positioned around the core in the socket housing to provide the necessary lost motion to maintain contact pressure. Locking tabs prevent separation of the core from the housing.
