A fluorous-modified composition, a fluorous nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotide microarray, a compositional detection process, a process of forming a fluorous nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotide microarray, and fluorous nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotide microarray processes are disclosed. The fluorous-modified composition includes a linker, a nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotide connected to the linker, and a fluorous domain connected to the linker. The fluorous-modified composition includes at least one terminal perfluoroalkyl group in the fluorous domain, a solid-phase attachment group connected to the linker, or a combination thereof. The compositional detection process includes using the fluorous microarray for compositional detection. The processes of forming a fluorous microarray include transfer blotting the fluorous-modified composition to form a fluorous microarray and the spotting of reaction mixtures containing a fluorous-modified nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotide. The fluorous microarray includes a fluorous-modified conductive surface and fluorous nucleoside, nucleotide, or oligonucleotides positioned on the fluorous-modified surface. The fluorous microarray process includes using information corresponding to a compositional detection process.

Fluorous oligonucleotide microarray

A fluorous peptide microarray, a process of detecting information by using a fluorous peptide microarray, and a process of forming a fluorous peptide microarray are disclosed. The fluorous peptide microarray includes a covalently-modified conductive fluorous surface and fluorous-tagged peptides having natural amino acids positioned on the covalently-modified conductive fluorous surface. The fluorous-tagged peptides are configured for analysis of one or both of a protein and an enzyme. The process of detecting information includes using the fluorous peptide microarray. The process of forming the fluorous peptide microarray includes spotting the fluorous-modified composition to the fluorous surface after a solution phase reaction or transfer blotting the fluorous-modified composition.

Process and intermediates for preparing benzazepines

A method of separating at least a first non-fluorous compound from a mixture of compounds including at least the first non-fluorous compound and a second fluorous compound includes: charging the of compounds to a non-fluorous solid (stationary) phase and eluting with a fluorous eluting fluid (mobile phase). In one embodiment, the non-fluorous solid phase is polar in nature. The method can further include a second phase elution with a suitable organic solvent. A method conducting a chemical reaction, includes: mixing at least a first fluorous compound and a second compound, the first fluorous compound differing in fluorous nature from the second compound; exposing the first mixture to conditions to convert at least one of the first fluorous compound and the second compound to give a second mixture containing at least a third compound, charging the second mixture to a non-fluorous solid phase; and eluting with a fluorous fluid.

Separation of fluorous compounds

The present invention includes methods and compositions for increasing the fluorous nature of an organic compound by reacting it with at least one fluorous compound to produce a fluorous tagged organic compound. The increased fluorous nature of the fluorous tagged organic compound can then be utilized to separate the fluorous organic compound from untagged reagents, reactants, catalysts and/or products derived therefrom. The resultant fluorous tagged organic compound can be subjected to subsequent chemical transformations, wherein the fluorous nature of the tagged compound is utilized to increase the ease of separation of the fluorous tagged organic compound from untagged reagents, reactants, catalysts and/or products derived therefrom, after each chemical transformation. The chemical transformations result in a second fluorous tagged organic compound wherein the fluorous nature of the second fluorous tagged organic compound can then be reduced by removing the fluorous group therefrom, thereby producing a second organic compound that may be employed as a pharmaceutical compound or intermediate, or a combinatorial library component.
