A belt damper for a gear train is provided. An endless belt is wrapped around pulleys mounted to an idler gear and an output gear. The pulleys are mounted to splined shafts which are axially aligned with and connected to splined gear shafts on which the idler and output gears are mounted. Pressurized lubricant is supplied to both splined connections. The combination of the lubricant in the spline connections and the damping effect of the belt provides for an effective damping system. A tension device may also be applied to vary tension imposed on the belt.

A fuel injector support assembly for mounting a fuel injector to the cylinder head of an engine. The fuel injector support assembly includes a fuel injector clamp attached to a bracket. The bracket is secured to the cylinder head by cylinder head mounting bolts, which are used also to fasten the cylinder head to the engine block. The fuel injector clamp is attached to the bracket and secures the fuel injector to the cylinder head.

A pump includes a pump housing having an impeller recess therein and a pump outlet and an impeller disposed in the impeller recess. First and second separate volute passages are disposed in the pump housing and are further disposed in fluid communication between the impeller recess and the pump outlet. Motive power and fluid are supplied to the impeller recess, thereby inducing fluid flow therein. The fluid flow is divided into the separate volute passages and the divided flow is recombined in a convergence passage before exiting the pump outlet.

At least two torque paths between a driver and a camshaft distribute dynamic torque applied to the camshaft, allowing for cancellation of undesirable torque components. The second torque path has a greater number of gears than the first torque path, and acts as a constraint on the camshaft, ameliorating discontinuities in camshaft rotation due to sudden changes in load on the camshaft.

An internal combustion engine includes a housing; a camshaft rotatably carried by the housing and having a plurality of cams; a rocker arm shaft rotatably carried by the housing and rotatably driven by the camshaft; and a plurality of rocker arms rotatably carried by the rocker arm shaft, with each rocker arm being associated with a respective cam. The rocker arm shaft and camshaft each include a gear these two gears enmeshing with each other. Rotating the camshaft in turn rotatably drives the rocker arm shaft within the rocker arms.

A fuel injector includes first and second valves and a solenoid including a solenoid coil and an armature assembly wherein the first and second valves are coupled to the armature assembly. A solenoid drive circuit is coupled to the solenoid coil and delivers a first current waveform portion to the solenoid coil at a first time to cause the armature assembly to operate the first valve without operating the second valve. A second current waveform portion different than the first current waveform portion is applied to the solenoid coil at a second time later than the first time to operate the second valve.

A flywheel housing adapted for use with an engine. The engine has a cylinder block and the cylinder block defines a mating portion. The flywheel housing has a groove with an elastomeric seal disposed therein. The groove has an arcuate portion and a pair of leg portions and is in sealing engagement with the mating portion. The principle use is for flywheel housing made of aluminum, however any flywheel housing that has thermal stresses or encounters vibrational loads will benefit from this invention.

A fuel injector solenoid includes an armature through which a high pressure fuel passage extends. Because the fuel passage is disposed within the armature, the solenoid can be made larger, thereby permitting greater armature forces to be developed.

A fuel injector includes a center tube which conducts fuel flow. A flat-seat poppet valve surrounds a lower portion of the center tube and controls the application of pressurized fuel to first and second check end passages to assist in check closure.

A fuel injector includes a center tube, a first valve separate from the center tube and surrounding a first end of the center tube and a second valve also separate from the center tube and surrounding a second end thereof. A solenoid is actuable to independently move the first and second valves and thereby control the application of fluid pressures to first and second ends of a check assembly, in turn to control injection of fuel into an associated engine cylinder.

A fuel injector includes a valve member disposed at the upper end of the injector case adjacent a valve recess. The valve member includes a bore and a counterbore, and a tube having a bore is slidably disposed within the counterbore. The valve member bore and the tube bore define a fuel flow passage substantially coincident with the central axis of the injector. The valve member is spring biased to an open position to communicate fuel at transfer pump pressure to the valve recess. At the initiation of the injection cycle, an actuator, preferably an electrical solenoid, closes the valve against the spring force so that fuel is communicated along the central passage to a nozzle.

A fuel injector solenoid includes a solenoid coil disposed in a stator, a flux conduction element carried by the stator and a flux blocking element disposed within a central recess of the stator and surrounded by the flux conduction element. First and second armatures are disposed in the central recess on opposite sides of the flux blocking element.

A fluid filler tool for a spin-on fluid filter comprises a tubular housing having an annular peripheral wall, an open end and a closed end. The closed end has one or more openings to allow fluid to flow therethrough and into fluid inlet ports of the fluid filter. The closed end has centrally located venting means for allowing air inside the filter to escape therefrom when the fluid filler tool is positioned on the filter and when the filter is being filled with fluid. The closed end has centrally located tool positioning means for allowing the filler tool to sealingly and removably fit into a centrally located fluid exit port of the spin-on filter. The fluid filler tool allows the filter assembly to be pre-filled with a fluid only through the fluid inlet ports and prevents any fluid from entering the fluid exit port of the filter assembly.

A control lever is provided for effecting positional control of a work implement. An actuator means applies a force to the control lever in response to a sensed load being applied to the work implement. The force applied to the implement control lever is in proportion to the load being applied to the work implement, thereby giving the operator a feel for the load being applied to the implement.
