An assembly for supporting an article is disclosed. The assembly may include one or a combination of a pillar member, a first cap member, a second cap member; and a fastener. In some configurations, the pillar member may be utilized alone for supporting the article; as such the first cap member, the second cap member, and the fastener may be individually or collectively optional. A method for assembling the assembly is also disclosed.

Assembly for supporting an article and methodology for assembling the same

A furniture unit includes at least one substrate having an upper surface, a lower surface, a proximal peripheral surface, a distal peripheral surface, a first seam, and a second seam. The lower surface is opposite the upper surface. The proximal peripheral surface extends from the upper surface to the lower surface. The distal peripheral surface is opposite the proximal peripheral surface and extends from the upper surface to the lower surface. The second seam is spaced apart from the first seam. The first and second seams extend in a direction parallel to the proximal peripheral surface. The proximal peripheral surface engages the lower surface such that the substrate defines a first hollow support.

A furniture unit includes at least one shelf. The shelf includes a substrate having an upper surface, a lower surface opposite the upper surface, a proximal peripheral surface, a distal peripheral surface, a first seam, and a second seam. The proximal peripheral surface extends from the upper surface to the lower surface. The distal peripheral surface is opposite the proximal peripheral surface and extends from the upper surface to the lower surface. The second seam is spaced apart from the first seam. The first and second seams extend in a direction parallel to the proximal peripheral surface. A molding bracket has a first molding surface for positioning on the first molding and a second molding slot projection for positioning in the second molding slot. A rail clip has a rail end for positioning on a side rail and a slot end for positioning in the third molding slot. The system has a panel for positioning adjacent to the first, second and third moldings.

A furniture coupling assembly that includes a coupling having a center portion, a first portion having a first locking member, a second portion having a second locking member, a first end and a second end. The assembly further includes a first furniture member having a first member groove having a shape corresponding to the center, first and second portions of the coupling. The first furniture member has a first locking member opening positioned adjacent to the first member groove. A second furniture member of the assembly has a second member groove having a shape corresponding to the center, first and second portions of the coupling. The second furniture member has a second locking member opening positioned adjacent to the second member groove. The coupling is insertable in the first and second furniture member grooves and the first and second locking members are insertable in the first and second locking member openings, respectively, to join together the first and second furniture members.
