The present disclosure relates to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices with a shaft having an effective working length that is adjustable relative to a connector of the device and/or a working channel of an endoscope, and methods for their use, such as devices and methods for delivery of a stent.

Devices with an adjustable effective working shaft length

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include an access valve that may be retrieved after implantation. The access valve may include a frame having a lumen, a self-expandable member extending through the lumen, and an elastic membrane extending through the lumen and a second end of the frame to releasably seal the lumen. The access valve may releasably attach to a wall of a patient and releasably seal an opening through the wall. The access valve may be attached to the wall by placing the frame adjacent the wall, extending the self-expandable member through the opening in the wall, and expanding the self-expandable member such that the self-expandable member applies a first force against the wall and a second force opposite the first force against the frame to sandwich the wall between the self-expandable member and the frame.

Retrievable access valve

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens.

Flow control valve

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and medical device delivery. In particular, the present disclosure relates to medical devices and delivery systems for positioning and delivering medical devices with an unsupported structure, for example, within a distant and/or tortuous portion of body lumen. For example, a delivery system may position a supported structure of a medical device within a proximal portion of a body lumen and an unsupported structure of the medical device within a distal portion of the body lumen. Examples include delivery systems within an unsupported structure of a medical device to be delivered, wherein a number of balloons are arranged un-inflated within an unsupported structure, with a distal balloon removably attached to a distal portion of the unsupported structure, and the balloons are inflatable in series to deploy the unsupported structure linearly from a distal end of the delivery system.

Delivery systems for devices with unsupported structure

A medical stent having a first end, a second end, and a central longitudinal axis extending from the first end to the second end, may include a plurality of first filaments each extending in a first helical path around the central longitudinal axis in a first direction and a plurality of second filaments each extending in a second helical path around the central longitudinal axis in a second direction. The plurality of first filaments may be interwoven with the plurality of second filaments. The first helical path of at least one of the plurality of first filaments may include a circumferential offset disposed between the first end and the second end.

Stent, mandrel, and method for forming a stent with anti-migration features

An illustrative stent may comprise an elongated tubular member having a first end and a second end and an intermediate region disposed therebetween. The elongated tubular member configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The elongated tubular member may comprise at least one twisted filament, such as a knitted filament having a plurality of twisted knit stitches with intermediate rung portions extending between adjacent twisted knit stitches, or a plurality of helical filaments twisted with a plurality of longitudinal filaments.

Stent

An implantable stent may include a braided tubular member formed of braided wires and including radially outward wire segments crossing over and positioned radially outward of radially inward wire segments at a plurality of crossover points. Also, the radially outward wire segments may be coated with a coating and the radially inward wire segments may be uncoated and devoid of the coating.

Medical stents

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens. For example, a device may include an elongate tubular body defining a lumen along a length thereof. The elongate tubular body may have an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, a proximal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a proximal retention member and a distal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a distal retention member, leaving a cylindrical saddle region extending therebetween. The cylindrical saddle region may include a constricted portion configured to move between a first diameter configuration and a second diameter configuration larger than the first diameter configuration.

Flow control stent

An illustrative stent may comprise an elongated tubular member having a first end and a second end and an intermediate region disposed therebetween. The elongated tubular member configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The elongated tubular member may comprise at least one twisted filament, such as a knitted filament having a plurality of twisted knit stitches with intermediate rung portions extending between adjacent twisted knit stitches and one or more anti-migration features formed in one or more intermediate rung portions.

Stent with anti-migration features

An illustrative endoluminal implant having an elongated tubular member. The elongated tubular member having a stent and a retrieval suture interwoven with the stent. The retrieval suture including a first suture loop extending about a circumference of the stent and adjacent to a suture retrieval loop and a second suture loop extending about a circumference of the stent and longitudinally spaced from the first suture loop. The first and second suture loops coupled via one or more interconnecting segments. At least one of the first or second suture loops has an arc length of less than 270° of the circumference of the stent.

Repositionable and removable stents

An esophageal stent configured to span a stricture may include a tubular body configured to shift between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, the tubular body having a first end and a second end. In the deployed configuration: the tubular body defines a first flange portion, a second flange portion, and a saddle portion extending from the first flange portion to the second flange portion; the tubular body further defining an overall longitudinal length extending from the first end to the second end; the first flange portion has a first outer radial extent, and the second flange portion has a second outer radial extent; the first outer radial extent and the second outer radial extent are greater than an outer radial extent of the saddle portion; and a longitudinal length of the saddle portion is at least 50% of the overall longitudinal length of the tubular body.

Stent with improved anti-migration properties

The present disclosure relates generally to stents, systems, and methods for anchoring devices within a body lumen by cooperation between the device and the body musculature. A device comprising an elongate tubular member may be deployed within a body lumen, where the body lumen includes a sphincter that regulates flow through the body lumen. The elongate tubular member includes a sleeve formed from a flexible membrane and one or more stents disposed at either or both ends of the sleeve. In some embodiments, the stents may be treatment stents configured to treat a portion of the body lumen. The elongate tubular member may be deployed within the body lumen such that the flexible membrane aligns with and moves in coordination with the sphincter, thereby increasing retention forces acting upon the elongate tubular member when the sphincter is closed to minimize treatment stent migration.

System, device and method for anchoring a stent

An example medical device is disclosed as an expandable stent. The stent includes a tubular scaffold having an inner surface, an outer surface, and a lumen extending therein. The expandable stent also includes a liner disposed within the lumen of the tubular scaffold. Further, the liner is radially spaced from a medial region of the tubular scaffold to define a tissue ingrowth region along an uncovered portion of the medial region. Additionally, the liner extending along the tissue ingrowth region is configured to limit the amount of tissue ingrowth along the medial region of the scaffold.

A medical device includes a handle including an axle, a device shaft extending from the handle to a distal end, and a control device. The control device is coupled to the handle, and the control device includes a knob. The knob is rotatable relative to the handle. The control device also includes a control shaft extending from the knob, at least one spring clutch including two legs, and a spool. The spool is rotatable relative to the axle. The control device also includes one or more wires coupled to the spool. Rotation of the knob is configured to rotate the control shaft, causing the at least one spring clutch to loosen, the spool to rotate, and the one or more wires to move.
