A training round for performing indirect fire mission, including a top end oriented towards a direction of projectile motion of the training round. A bottom end is situated opposite to the top end. The top end and the bottom end are separated by a first distance. An adjuster is arranged between the top end and the bottom end to adjust a length of the training round. The adjuster compresses such that the top end and the bottom end are separated by a second distance. The second distance is less than the first distance. A round sensor attached to the training round and communicatively couples to a simulation computer while performing the indirect fire training mission.

Simulated telescopic mortar bomb

The system comprises a first display mounted in a fixed position, a computer system coupled to the first display and a handheld computing device, wherein the first display is larger than the second display, the first display has a wider field of view than the second display, the first display establishes an optical link with the second display, the first display and the second display renders a virtual reality model of a scene with moving objects and asynchronous visual events. The handheld computing device is configured to scan machine-readable code embedded in asynchronous visual events, the result of scanning indicates location of the asynchronous visual events and transmits the location of the synchronous visual events to one or more remote computing devices using one or more wireless link, and in response to transmission of the location, modify the virtual reality model of the scene rendered on the first display.

Synchronization between screens

A weapon training system for an indirect firing weapon. The weapon training system includes a firing box including at least one processor, and a firing mechanism communicatively coupled with the firing box. Activation of the firing mechanism causes a simulated firing of the indirect firing weapon. The weapon training system also includes a round sensor communicatively coupled with the firing box. The round sensor is operable to be attached to or integrated with a round compatible with the weapon. The round is operable to be inserted into a breech of the weapon. The weapon training system further includes a breech sensor communicatively coupled with the firing box. The breech sensor is configured to detect an insertion of the round into the breech of the weapon via detection of the round sensor.

Indirect fire mission training system

An aerial vehicle is described that is capable of interacting within a TES environment, and capable of acting as a Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) platform to represent virtually any type of aircraft in the simulation. The aerial vehicle may include sensors for determining its own location and/or orientation, and may further carry a payload of components that can be assembled modularly to equipped the aerial vehicle with different types of functionality. Such functionality can include enabling the aerial vehicle to gather information regarding its surroundings, engage with other military entities within the TES environment, and/or enable other military entities within the TES environment to engage with it.

Tactical engagement simulation (TES) ground-based air defense platform

A military communications unit that utilizes a relatively high-bandwidth digital communication networks (e.g., cellular networks) is capable of acting as a wireless communications hub for a soldier, vehicle, weapon, or other entity. The military communications unit can obtain data from multiple devices via close-range wireless technologies and communicate with training or operational networks. The military communications unit can be flexible in its capacity to relay data by formatting data in accordance with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), High-Level Architecture (HLA), and/or another distributed computer simulation standard. Moreover, the military communications unit may be further capable of 're-banding,' enabling communications using cellular protocols and/or standards in non-cellular frequency bands.

Individual broadband communications hub for operational and training environments

An indirect fire mission training round includes a projectile training shell having an outer periphery, a proximal end, and a distal end, the proximal end defining an interior chamber. The projectile training shell is configured to be inserted within a cavity of a projectile firing instrument. The round includes an interlock member configured to securely receive a proximal portion of a subsequent training round within the interior chamber of the projectile training shell. The round includes a resistance brake extending outward from the outer periphery and configured to contact a wall of the cavity of the firing instrument and provide resistance that secures the projectile training shell at a position within the cavity. The resistance break is selectively disengageable such that the position of the projectile training shell is adjustable.
