In a color display tube a shadow mask skirt is welded to a frame at least near the ends of two oppositely located sides of the frame, and engages the ends of the other two sides of the frame in a fractional manner.

The electrical connection between the shadow mask and screen of a cathode ray tube is provided by a contact spring, one end of which engages one of the metal mask support pins upstanding from the sidewall of the tube's faceplate, and the other end of which contacts the electrically conductive layer overlying the screen. Engagement with the pin occurs at a transition region between the conical base portion and the spherical head of the pin, and produces a simple and reliable electric connection between the shadow mask and the electrically conductive layer.

Cathode ray tube with internal electrical connections means

A color display tube having a magnetic screening cap provided with four resilient metal plates extending radially in the direction of the corner points of the display screen at the edge of the end of the cap having the smallest diameter. The plates press against the electrically conductive inner coating of the cone and which would otherwise prevent electrons pass between the screening cap and the conductive inner coating of the cone from impinging upon the display screen.
