An orifice-type quenching nozzle for an induction hardening system includes a body having a plurality of nozzle orifices configured to apply a quenching fluid onto a to-be-quenched workpiece. The nozzle orifices are arranged on at least one surface of the body in rows and in columns, and the plurality of nozzle orifices are positioned such that each nozzle orifice is located a same distance from each directly adjacent nozzle orifice.

A bearing ring for a rolling-element bearing or plain bearing has at least one first region that is inductively hardened or is configured to be inductively hardened and at least one second region that is not inductively hardened and is not intended to be inductively hardened, and the at least one second region includes at least one stress-relief recess and/or at least one stress-relief projection.

A bearing ring of a rolling-element bearing includes a raceway for rolling elements and at least one flange for guiding the rolling elements, the flange merging into a bearing ring shoulder and extending to a height above the raceway. A free space such as a recess is formed between the bearing ring shoulder and the flange such that the flange is freestanding over its entire height.
