A vehicle interior component configured for response in event of a side impact may comprise an armrest assembly for a door panel. The armrest assembly may comprise a base section and an armrest section and a region configured for response to side impact at the door panel. The region may comprise a movable/deformable structure. Response of the armrest assembly may comprise deformation to partially absorb force and/or movement of the armrest section relative to the base section to partially cover the base section. The armrest assembly may comprise a carrier and/or mechanism to attach the armrest section to the door panel. The carrier/mechanism may be configured to guide/direct movement of the armrest section and/or to partially absorb the side impact force. The mechanism may comprise a set of pins movable within a set of slots to provide for movement of the armrest section.

Component for vehicle interior

The invention relates to a vehicle interior fitting part, in particular for a motor vehicle, and to a method for producing a vehicle interior fitting part. The vehicle interior fitting part has a first support element and an energy absorption element. The support element is integrally joined to the energy absorption element by means of a connecting region. The support element is provided such that it can be pre-assembled relative to the energy absorption element by means of the connecting region.

Vehicle interior fitting part and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to a sealing element for sealing off component groups capable of being positioned in relation to one another, for use, in particular, in the vehicle and building technology sector, the sealing element has a first seal partperforming a sealing function and having a soft fraction and a second seal partperforming a reinforcing function and having a hard fraction. The sealing element is essentially an annular design and has an essentially accurately designed first seal part directed inward in the operating position, with a soft fraction, and an essentially frame-shaped second seal part arranged at the inwardly projecting end of the first seal part, with a hard fraction.

In a method for producing a trim article (), the interspace between a sheet-like decorative material () and a carrier () is foam-filled. There is provision, during foaming, for the decorative material () to be pressed sealingingly onto the interior-side surface of the carrier () so as to run around the region to be foam-filled. In this case, the discharge of the air to be displaced during foaming can take place through the foam-tight, but, at least in regions, not gas-tight structure of the carrier (). For this purpose, the carrier () can be gas-sealed in regions by the local compression of an intrinsically gas-permeable unprocessed part before introduction into the foaming die. Also disclosed is a trim article capable of being produced according to the method.

Panel element, particularly for a motor vehicle, and method for the production thereof

A structural article, in particular an equipment article for the interior of a motor vehicle, includes a first, hard-elastic or plastically deformable carrier structure () and of a second, soft-elastic component () which is connected in one piece to the latter and which sealingly closes the carrier structure provided with recesses (). There is provision for the recesses () to be essentially filled by the soft-elastic component () and consequently to be sealingly closed. A method for producing a structural article of this type is also disclosed.

Deformable component, especially accessory for a vehicle, and process for manufacturing

An actuating lever (), in particular for adjusting a vehicle seat, has an axle receptacle (), an articulation device () for force delivery and a grip piece (). The actuating lever () is manufactured in one piece from plastic, a core () which comprises the axle receptacle () and the articulation device () is manufactured from a material having higher strength than the grip piece ().

A cushioning member for the interior of a vehicle, such as an armrest, instrument panel or the like, comprising of an insert of relatively stable shape and a cushioning layer of foam plastic borne by it. An opening is accessible from the front of the cushioning member and extends approximately to the top resting surface thereof, the opening being adapted to receive an inserted functional part, for instance a loudspeaker. The opening is closed off by a masking member, the masking member being connected to the cushioning member in an arrangement for movement approximately perpendicular to the resting surface in response to a vertical deforming force on the resting surface.
