A multi-layered electronic system has a support substrate including at least a primary conductive track; a security layer including at least a conductive security track; an electrically-conductive engagement element in electrical communication with the primary conductive tack, and to which the security layer is mounted so that the conductive security track is in permanent electrical communication with the primary conductive track; and a flexible cover layer which overlies the security layer and which is directly or indirectly secured to the support substrate. The electrical connection between the security layer, conductive engagement element and primary conductive track is interrupted when the conductive security track is broken.

Multi-layered electronic system

A multi-layered electronic system has: a support substrate which supports at least a primary conductive track and a conductive shorting element, which are electrical isolated from one another. A security layer has at least a conductive security connection and a flexible switch element providing an electrical interruption to the conductive security track. The conductive security connection electrically engages the primary conductive track. The flexible switch element is coplanar with the conductive security connection. A dielectric substrate, to which the security layer is affixed, is secured to the support substrate. The electrical interruption of the conductive security connection is bridged by the switch element contacting the conductive shorting element under an actuation force provided from the direction of the dielectric substrate, the switch element being biased away from the conductive shorting element in the absence of the actuation force.

Anti-tamper device

An electronic device is protected from unauthorized access by use of a security wrap having a security screen connected to an alarm circuit of the electronic device. The security screen has a pair of screen terminals interconnected by a conductor. The conductor is formed on a substrate. The substrate is arranged such that attempts to remove the security wrap will result in the substrate being torn and the conductor being damaged or broken whereby the resistance of the conductive path formed by the conductor changes to indicate an alarm condition.

Security wrap with tearable substrate

A tampering resistant device has housing, a circuit board fitted with electronic components, and a key pad for command input. A security wrap is disposed between the circuit board and the key pad. The security wrap has a substrate and a security screen formed thereon and connected to a first alarm. The security screen has a conductive trace extending over the substrate between a pair of screen terminals that are electrically connected to respective alarm terminals. An alarm switch is located between the substrate and the circuit board and connected to a second alarm. The alarm switch is held closed by a spigot pressing on the alarm switch through the substrate. The spigot extends from the housing and releases the alarm switch when the housing is opened.

Electronic device with tamper resistant enclosure

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A security screen () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and includes a pair of screen terminals () and a frangible and electrically conductive path () between the pair of screen terminals (). A layer of adhesive () is over the first side of the substrate () and bonds the first side of the substrate () to the electronic component with the security screen () sandwiched there between.

Security wrap with breakable conductors

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component () includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A conductive path () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and has first and second ends coupled to the electronic component (), and a pattern selected from a plurality of predetermined patterns. A layer of adhesive () is over the first side of the substrate () and bonds the first side of the substrate () to the electronic component () with the conductive path () sandwiched there between.

Security wrap

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component () having a bonding surface includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A first security screen () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and includes a first pair of screen terminals () and a first conductive track () between the first pair of screen terminals (). A second security screen () includes a second pair of screen terminals () and a second conductive track () between the second pair of screen terminals () and overlaying the first conductive track () on the first security screen (). A layer of adhesive () is over a side of the second security screen () remote from the substrate () and bonds the second security screen () to the bonding surface of the electronic component ().
