Provided is a curable ink composition, in particular a curable inkjet ink composition. The ink composition has a dye monomer, a carrier monomer and an initiator. The dye monomer has a chromophore moiety that is covalently bonded to at least one polymerizable functional group and is present at 1.0 wt % or more based on total weight of the ink composition. The carrier monomer has at least one polymerizable functional group and is present in at 50 wt % or more based on total weight of the ink composition. The ink compositions are suitable for radiation curing such as UV curing and have good cure properties or light fastness properties.

Curable ink composition

A marine seismic source comprises a housing having a central axis, an open end, and a closed end opposite the open end. In addition, the source comprises a piston coaxially disposed within the housing. In addition, the source comprises a flywheel disposed within the housing and axially positioned between the closed end and the piston. The flywheel is configured to rotate about a rotational axis. Further, the source comprises a connecting rod moveably coupling the piston to the flywheel. The connecting rod has a first end pivotally coupled to the piston and a second end pivotally coupled to the flywheel. The second end of the connecting rod has a first position at a first distance measured radially from the rotational axis, and a second position at a second distance measured radially from the rotational axis. The first distance is less than the second distance.

Marine mechanical seismic source

A very low frequency marine seismic source has a reservoir of water () feeding water to an aperture communicating with the surrounding water (). The rate of water flow through the aperture is controlled by a rotor disc () and stator disc () having holes which overlap to a greater or lesser extent as the rotor rotates. The modulation of the flow of water produces a modulated pressure signal which is radiated into the surrounding water. The device is intended to produce acoustic signals over a band extending down to 0.5 Hz or lower.

Marine siren seismic source

A low frequency sound source has a radiating piston () of the order of a few meters across backed by a gas spring () containing a fixed mass of gas. The gas pressure in the spring is kept at levels for which the natural frequency of the piston () loaded by the fluid () lies in the seismic band and may be as low as 0.5 Hz. The piston () is given an initial displacement and begins to oscillate. Its oscillations are sustained by an actuator () whose drive signal is derived from the velocity of the piston () via a velocity or displacement sensor. The sound source is caused to perform a frequency sweep by gradually compressing the gas in the gas spring () so that the spring becomes stiffer both because of the rising pressure and because of the reducing length of the gas spring spaces (). This double effect allows large changes in stiffness to be produced and hence allows the source to operate over at least three octaves of frequency.

Marine seismic source

A marine seismic source comprises a housing having a central axis, an open end, and a closed end opposite the open end. In addition, the seismic source includes a piston extending coaxially through the open end of the housing. The piston is adapted to axially reciprocate relative to the housing. Further, the piston has a first end distal the housing and a second end disposed within the housing.

A portable instrument, described in GB2413189, is held between the fingers of one hand and measures the cumulative exposure of a worker to vibration. However, this instrument will not comfortably fit the hands of all workers There is also an administrative problem in administering the allocation of different instruments to respective workers at the beginning of a shift, recording the measurements at the end of a shift and ensuring that instruments are adequately charged. The problem is solved by using a docking station () to receive the instruments before and after use, to receive information recorded by or stored within the units, to charge the batteries and to receive identity information concerning a worker requesting access, to a unit. When a worker returns an instrument to the docking station, a processing mechanism collects information about the identity of the worker, and the state of charge of the instrument's battery. It also informs a worker about to start work which instrument to take and records which worker has or has had which instrument.

System for monitoring exposure to vibration

A method of determining the presence and location of leaks in a pipeline () comprising inserting a leak location device capable of detecting and recording the occurrence of noise into the flow of fluid () within the pipeline (); allowing the leak location device to travel through the pipeline () with the fluid flow; causing the leak location device to detect and record noise in the fluid; and causing the leak location device to record the time at which noise is detected. Generally the leak location device is retrieved from the pipeline () downstream to its insertion point.

Leak locator

An exercise assembly designed to exercise the upper body including the arms, shoulders, upper back and muscles associated therewith. The exercise assembly is thereby particularly, but not exclusively, adapted for use by an injured person or invalid having limited use of the legs and/or lower torso. A track assembly includes two track segments disposed in a convergent configuration and at least partially defining an open end dimensioned to receive a user, when in a seated, substantially upright position, at least partially therebetween. The user accesses two hand grips each linearly and reciprocally along the separate track segments. A resistance assembly includes a line interconnecting the hand grips and an adjustable resistance mechanism engaging the line so as to apply a movement restricting force thereto. An adjustable resistance is thereby applied to the linear, push/pull movement of the hand grips, as applied by the user.

Exercise assembly for the upper body

A lifting implement for removing a panel () which has a receiving means () in the body of the said panel () on the surface of the panel () which is exposed in use, the receiving means () being offset from the center of the panel (), from a position in which it is held by gravity in an aperture () defined by a surrounding floor or ground surface () where the exposed surface of the panel () is substantially flush with the surrounding surface () comprises a handle () with an elongate shift () for use by an operator in a standing position, terminating in an engagement member () engageable with said receiving means (), wherein the handle () is connected to the engagement member () by pivotable means (), whereby said panel () can be removed from said aperture (), and said handle () can move relative to said engagement member () during the removal of the panel () from the aperture (), the lifting implement being further provided with restricting means () which is movable between a position in which movement of the pivotable means () is prevented and a position in which movement of the pivotable means is permitted. A panel system employs these panels in combination with the above-described implement.

Panels and lifting implements therefor

When an underground pipe carrying a fluid, such as a buried water-pipe, develops a leak the leak must first be located before it can be repaired. One common location method makes use of the fact that the leaking fluid often creates a noise, typically a hissing sound, which is transmitted through the ground, and although rapidly attenuated can be heard with suitable highly sensitive ground microphones and is therefore useful to field crews as a means of locating leaks. Unfortunately, the sound levels can be grossly distorted by underground heterogenities, and can easily be confused or even swamped by other sound sources above ground, and in general ground microphones used like this do not seem to be effective. The invention deals with the problems entailed in this technique by a method&mdash;and apparatus &mdash;which involves using semi-automated equipment to listen (either simultaneously or sequentially) to the leak sound source (,) from a multiplicity of different positions (as,) spaced all around the sound source, and by then suitably combining and processing the received signals to provide the desired indication of the source's location.

Leak location

A sample flow of drilling mud is taken via a pipe 14 from a shale shaker tank 10 and passed into a container 15 with a vigorous stirrer 17 and having a capacity of typically 0.40 m.sup.3. The sample flow rate and size of the container are sufficient to permit analysis of samples taken at 15 minute intervals via a pipe 18 and valve 19, without aliasing information in the resulting data. For eight hour sampling an intermittent flow is taken from the container 15 into another agitated container 21 via a pipe 26 with a valve 27 which is open only for two seconds in every minute. Analysis samples are taken via a pipe 22 and a valve 23 and the residence time in the tanks 15 and 21 is sufficient to prevent aliasing in the information acquired by eight hour sampling and analysis.

Sampling of drilling mud

A method of real time analysis and control of a fluid influx from an underground formation into a wellbore being drilled with a drill string, a drilling and circulating from the surface down to the bottomhole into the drill string and flowing back to the surface in the annulus defined between the wall of the wellbore and the drill string, the method comprising the steps of shutting-in the well, when the influx is detected; measuring the inlet pressure P.sub.i or outlet pressure P.sub.o of the drilling mud as a function of time at the surface; determining, from the increase of the mud pressure measurement, the time t.sub.c corresponding to the minimum gradient in the increase of the mud pressure and controlling the well from the time t.sub.c.
