Cigarette packs of the hinge-lid-box type with an outer wrapping of shrinkable film are transported through a shrinkage station () in two pack rows (), in each case comprising individual packs. In the region of said shrinkage station, shrinkage elements, namely heating plates (), subject the upper side and/or lower side of the packs (), during a standstill phase of the same, to (contact) heat. The packs () are transported such that the lower side and the upper side are simultaneously or consecutively exposed for contact by the heating plates.

Method and device for producing cigarette packs

A cuboidal cigarette pack of the hinge-lid-box type () is enclosed by an outer wrapper made of film. The latter has a tear-open thread () which extends obliquely or diagonally in the region of a front wall () and rear wall () and merges into side walls () via arcuate regions. This allows optimum opening and removal of the outer wrapper with the aid of the tear-open thread ().

Process for producing packs made of thin cardboard with an outer wrapper made of shrink-wrap film. Folding tabs of the outer wrapper are connected to one another by full-surface-area heat sealing. The shrink-wrapping process for the outer wrapper may be initiated as a result. In order to ensure a correct form of the outer wrapper, the folding tabs, prior to the full-surface-area sealing operation, are connected to one another by a tack seal, with small, limited sealing surface areas, and are then sealed over the full surface area.

Process for producing hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes

During the production of cigarettes, but in particular in the region of a cigarette-packaging machine, a comparatively large amount of tobacco accumulates as waste. This is specifically removed by arranging suction-extraction elements and/or conveying-away elements for tobacco particles () in the region of elements and subassemblies of the machines with increased accumulation of tobacco. The air with tobacco particles () which has been extracted by suction is led through a tobacco separator (), which has a separating element () for receiving the tobacco particles. From time to time, these are removed from the tobacco separator () and recycled into the production process.

Apparatus for producing and/or packaging cigarettes

In the production of packs with outer wrappers which have a tear-open strip (), the latter of continuous material strips (), for the purpose of severing the tear-open strips (), are provided with printing, markings (), etc. Moreover, the film webs () from which the outer wrappers are made also are preferably provided with markings, printing or printed marks (). Sensing elements help to detect the relative positions of the tear-open strip () and the film webs () on account of the printing and the drive of the film web () and/or of the material strip () is controlled accordingly.

Process and apparatus for producing packs with an outer wrapper as well as reel unit

In order to produce (cigarette) packs with an insert blank () applied within the pack or to the outside of the latter, this insert blank is fixed temporarily by virtue of the pack or pack contents being electrostatically charged in the region of the insert blank (). The pack is completed while the static charge is active, with the result that, by way of pack blanks, the insert coupon () is fixed in the envisaged position by the pack itself.

Method of, and apparatus for, producing (cigarette) packs

Hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes, comprising a box part () and lid (), are frequently fitted with a closure aid for the lid (). Said closure aid comprises interlocking elements which can be brought into engagement with one another, namely a lid inner tab (), on the one hand, and a collar front wall (), on the other hand. In order to ensure operativeness as soon as the pack is used, it is ensured that the closure aid is already in engagement when the pack is completed, i.e. before it is used for the first time. For this purpose, the lid () is partially opened after being substantially completed and is then moved into the closed position again thereby ensuring engagement of the closing elements.

Method and device for producing flap cases comprising a closing accessory

For acquiring characteristic data of a pack ( ), in particular of a cigarette pack, the latter is compressed between a pressure plate ( ) and a bearing plate ( ). The latter is connected to a load cell ( ) in order to determine the applied force as a function of the distance traveled. The characteristic deformation data or change in force at a precise, constant downward movement of the pressure plate ( ) yield a reproducible, characteristic image of the pack ( ) in question.

Method and apparatus for the testing of cuboid-shaped packs

In the production and packaging of cigarettes, the procedure for carrying out a product changeover is such that the entire production and packaging installation is largely emptied. In the region of a film packer ( ) and of a following multipacker ( ), subassemblies for producing web connections (splice) are controlled such that a last cigarette pack of the old configuration is assigned to a last cigarette multipack ( ) and this is then separated out.

Process for producing cigarette packs

For coding (cigarette) packs ( ) in the region of a conveyor, in particular in the region of a (drying) turret ( ). A region of an outer pack surface, in particular of a side surface ( ), is exposed during the coding. For this purpose, it is possible for the conveying elements of the conveyor to be arranged or designed correspondingly and/or for the walls ( ) of the conveyor pockets ( ) to be dimensioned correspondingly. Alternatively, the packs ( ) are removed from the conveyor, or moved out of the pockets ( ), into the region of action of a laser coder ( ).

Process and apparatus for providing codings on (cigarette) packs

In the production of hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes, outer side tabs ( ) and lid side tabs ( ) are folded last of all in order to form side walls of the hinge-lid box ( ). The side tabs ( ) and lid side tabs ( ), extending in a horizontal plane, are to be provided with glue on the underside. For this purpose, glue nozzles ( ) are arranged in the region of a pack conveyor path ( ) and have the side tabs ( ) and lid side tabs ( ) butting against them temporarily for the transfer of strip-like applications of glue.

Hinge-lid box for cigarettes and process and apparatus for gluing packaging material

Packaging machine, in particular for cigarettes, having subassemblies and elements for handling packaging material and cigarettes. In order to reduce the outlay on servicing for the packaging machine, the practice, in the region where dust and material particles occur to a pronounced extent, is for air to be extracted constantly or temporarily by suction, the particles being carried along in the process. Furthermore, particles adhering to articles, in particular to material webs, may be processed mechanically, in particular by brushes ( ), in order for particles to be detached and extracted by suction.

Packaging machine, in particular for cigarettes

In the production of large packs (10) each comprising a pack group (11), in particular comprising cigarette packs (12), different-wrapper versions have to be taken into account. For this purpose, two folding turrets (21, 22) for different packaging material are provided, namely a folding turret (21) for cardboard blanks (13) and a folding turret (22) for blanks (20) made of paper or film. The two folding turrets (21, 22) are arranged one beside the other in horizontal alignment. Each folding turret (21, 22) is provided with four pockets which each run through three operating stations.

Apparatus for producing (large) packs

Process and apparatus for producing packs and for transporting blanks (10), for producing the packs, along a conveying path (11). For the purpose of monitoring and/or for the optoelectronic sensing of the blanks (10), monitoring elements (15) with sensors (16, 17) are arranged in the region of the conveying path (11). The blanks (10) are guided in the region of the monitoring element (15) such that the blanks (10) are moved beyond at least one of the sensors (16, 17) with sliding abutment, in order for the sensor to be cleaned constantly.

Process and apparatus for the optoelectronic monitoring of packaging

To improve the efficiency of powerful packaging machines for cigarettes or the like, the blanks (10) for wrapping the cigarettes or the like are monitored in respect of correct formation whilst being conveyed along a blanks path (27) to a revolving folding unit (28). Bifurcate photoelectric barriers are positioned on side regions of the blanks path (28) as monitoring units (40, 41). These barriers monitor the state of folding flaps (19. .24), arranged at the side, of the transported blanks (10).
