A milking arrangement includes robot milking stations connected to a milk conduit with an outlet end. A connection conduit connected to the outlet end includes an outlet member. A cleaning device for cleaning the milk conduit includes a cleaning conduit having a first connection member. A milk tank includes a second connection member. The outlet member is movable between and connectable to the first connection member in a primary state, and to the second connection member in a secondary state. A controller communicates with the milking stations, the cleaning device and a user interface. When determined to change the state, measures for preparing the arrangement for the change are automatically performed. Thereafter, the user interface indicates to an operator that the arrangement is ready for the change.

Milking arrangement, and a method of operating a milking arrangement

A milking installation includes first and second fluid systems (S; S) and a coupling arrangement for connecting and disconnecting the first fluid system (S) to and from the second fluid system (S). In a connected state, the first and second fluid systems (S, S) are in fluid communication with one another, and in a disconnected state the first and second fluid systems (S, S) are not in fluid communication with one another. The coupling arrangement includes a common cavity (CC) configured to be alternately included in the first fluid system (S) or in the second fluid system (S) for through passage of fluid while the first and second fluid systems (S, S) are disconnected from one another. The first fluid system (S) also has a by-pass arrangement configured to allow fluid in the first fluid system (S) to circulate independently from the passage of fluid through the common cavity (CC) when the common cavity (CC) is included in the second fluid system (S).

Independent cleaning of interfaces between separable fluid systems

The invention is related to a washing apparatus for cleaning milking related equipment comprising a washing apparatus connectable to an automatic milking station () by interconnecting pipelines in such a way as to enable the washing apparatus to circulate a washing fluid through the milking related equipment of the automatic milking station (). The washing apparatus () comprise a circulation tankand a separate pre-filling tank (), whereby filling in advance and holding of the washing fluid to be used in a subsequent washing step is enabled. The washing apparatus () further comprises connecting means for connection of the pre-filling tank () to the circulation tank (). By means of the invention the time needed to complete a cleaning procedure is shortened essentially, and a cleaning procedure rendered more effective. The invention further relates to such method.

Washing apparatus and method for cleaning milking related equipment

A method for animal management is provided in a milking system including a a milking box, a milking apparatus for milking animals, an enclosed waiting area from which the animals are capable of entering the milking box, and a gate arrangement, in which each of the animals is allowed to enter and pass the waiting area if the animal, after having been identified, fulfills a criterion. The method includes measuring a time an animal waits in the waiting area before being milked; determining a ranking for the animal based on the time, the ranking being a measure of a hierarchic order of the animal among the animals milked in the milking system; and performing an action with regard to the milking system depending on the determined ranking.
