A method for sanitizing headsets during a period of non-use by placing the headsets on a support construct in the form of a rack within which there is a source of ultraviolet radiation. The headsets are mounted straddling the rack, gripping the rack to be secured in place with a resilient biasing force. Then, the rack, with mounted headsets, is enclosed within a case, suitable for storage or transport. The source is activated to pass ultraviolet radiation through the rack to impinge upon the headsets, during a timed duration of operation, with the case automatically locked closed for that duration, thereby sanitizing the headsets. Reflective surfaces within the case serve effectively to immerse the headsets within ultraviolet radiation for the duration of operation, and air is circulated within the case, passing through the rack, during the sanitizing operation to assure complete sanitizing of the headsets.

Apparatus and method for sanitizing headsets during a period of non-use by placing the headsets on a support construct in the form of a rack within which there is a source of ultraviolet radiation. The headsets are mounted straddling the rack, resiliently gripping the rack to be secured in place, and the rack with mounted headsets is enclosed within a case. The source is activated to pass ultraviolet radiation through the rack to impinge upon the headsets, during a timed duration of operation, with the case automatically locked closed for that duration, thereby sanitizing the headsets. Reflective surfaces within the case serve effectively to immerse the headsets within ultraviolet radiation for the duration of operation, and air is circulated within the case, passing through the rack, during the sanitizing operation to assure complete sanitization of the headsets.

A perforating device for punching pores in shrink-wrap film as the film moves along a film path is described. A biasing apparatus is used to bias the film towards a tension-creating apparatus and a microperforator apparatus so that pores can be punched in the film. An embodiment of the invention uses microperforator pin wheels, having a plurality of conically-shaped pins, and gripper wheels connected to a microperforator shaft. A rotary brush is connected to a rotary brush shaft. Shrink-wrap film is threaded between the microperforator shaft and the rotary brush shaft, and then pulled by an operator to wrap a package. The rotary brush biases the film towards the microperforator pin wheels and the gripper wheels, so that the pins on the micoperforator pin wheels puncture the film as it is being pulled. The rotary brush shaft can be adjusted to permit film to be threaded, and to control the size of the pores to be punched into the film. In addition, the amount and location of the microperforator pin wheels and the gripper wheels connected to the microperforator shaft can be changed so that the device can be customized to provide different patterns of pores as well as to control the amount of pores to be punched.

Perforation apparatus and method for use with sealing devices

A form fill packaging and sealing apparatus comprises a film dispenser and a film forming plow which, together with a roller guide, forms the film to be sealed into a tube with the free edges at the side. The object to be packaged is inserted into the film tube. The free edges of the film are longitudinally sealed together at the side of the package by a rotary heat sealer and immediately cooled to approximate impulse sealing. The quality and width of the longitudinal seal can be adjusted by changing the amount that the film is preheated before sealing. A cross seal is made at the front and back of the object to be packaged. The excess gas in the package is pressed out by a presser before the back cross seal is made.

Film sealing and packaging method and apparatus with adjustable seal

A horizontal form fill packaging and sealing apparatus comprises a film dispenser and a film forming plow which, together with a roller guide, forms the film to be sealed into a tube with the free edges at the side. Sealing and packaging method and apparatus

The apparatus includes an L-sealer and a supply of folded film which is fed across a horizontal table to the vicinity of the sealer, where a product to be packaged is placed between the upper and lower sheets of folded film. The sealer is then operated to hold closed the open side of the film opposite the fold and thus to form a bag which is closed, but not sealed, on three sides. The edge of the table facing the open end of the bag is provided with a vacuum chamber which is operated to remove air from the bag, whereupon the L-sealer is operated to complete the sealing of the bag and the severing of the bag from the film supply.
