An energy system that has components connected by buses, and a method and an apparatus for controlling same is provided. The components are labelled as either non-fixed or fixed, depending on whether their energy operating point is specified. The control of the energy system includes performing an iteration process via all of the buses. A respective iteration for the respectively selected bus includes attempting to balance a power budget of the selected bus by specifying the energy operating points of components connected to the respective bus that are labelled as non-fixed. If the balancing for the respective bus is successful, all of the components connected to the respective bus are labelled as fixed; otherwise, the label of components connected to the respective bus is converted from fixed to non-fixed and a fresh iteration for the bus is triggered.

Techniques for operational planning in a microgrid by means of optimization are provided. This involves a power exchange with a primary grid being taken into consideration. The operational planning in this case is performed by using an optimization, e.g. a (mixed) integer linear optimization. The various examples describe how a power exchange (balancing) can be provided for a primary grid to which the microgrid is connected. In particular, this is achieved by taking into consideration a distinction for the constraint of the optimization. In this manner, a lead time between a request for the power exchange and the actual activating of the power exchange can be taken into consideration.

A method for using an electrochemical energy storage device within a specifiable usage plan time period so as to optimize the service life is provided. The calendar aging constitutes a variable which influences the service life of the energy storage device and which is expressed in the form of a nonlinear function based on the fill state and the temperature of the energy storage device, the temperature being influencable by at least one charging and/or discharging process.

A method and a device for using an electrochemical energy store so as to optimize the service life is provided. The cyclical aging of the energy store is expressed in the form of a nonlinear function based on the temperature which can be influenced by a charging and/or discharging process of the energy store and the energy throughput. The nonlinear function is linearly approximated in order to determine the cyclical aging in each interval which can be specified for subdividing a specifiable usage planning period and is used to calculate a service life-optimizing plan for using the energy store.
