A spray generator () including: a membrane () having a perforate portion through which, in use, a fluid is caused to flow when the membrane () is vibrated; an electronically-driven or a piezoelectrically driven actuator for vibrating the membrane (); a chamber () for storing fluid for supply to a surface of the membrane (); and a sealing element () located in and movable within the chamber () between a first position in which fluid flow from the chamber () through the membrane () is prevented and a second position in which fluid flow from the chamber () through the membrane () is allowed.

Spray generator

A telemetric system includes a telemetric implant, a reader unit adapted to read signals from the telemetric implant, and an antenna adapted for connection to the reader unit and to receive signals from the telemetric implant. The antenna has a first coil, a second coil, and a connector. The first coil is electrically connected to the second coil, and the connector allows for movement of the first and second coils relative to each other. The antenna may be used to send radio-frequency power to the telemetric implant and receives data from the telemetric implant.

System and method for communicating with a telemetric implant

An electronic drive system for a droplet spray generation device has a droplet generator with a perforate membrane driven by a piezoelectric transducer. An electronic circuit controls a power supply to control the charging of a capacitor to supply a drive signal to the piezoelectric transducer. The electronic circuit is arranged to control the operation of the power amplifier at substantially its resonant frequency.

A fluid consuming battery () is provided with a fluid regulating system () for regulating fluid entry into the battery. The battery () includes a fluid consuming cell () having a cell housing with fluid entry ports for the passage of a fluid into the cell housing. A first fluid consuming electrode and a second electrode are disposed within the cell housing. The fluid regulating system () includes a valve having a moving plate () disposed adjacent to a fixed plate (). The moving plate and fixed plate both have fluid entry ports () that align in an open valve position and are misaligned in a closed valve position. The fluid regulating system () also includes an actuator that may include one or more shape memory alloy (SMA) components () for moving the moving plate () relative to the fixed plate () to open and close the valve.

An electronic gas flow triggering circuit for use in an aerosol drug dispensing device has a voltage source and a self-nulling circuit to which voltage is supplied from the voltage source. A hot wire anemometer filament forms a component of the bridge circuit which is adapted to maintain a constant resistance of the anemometer filament, the bridge drive voltage being dependent upon the gas flow across the anemometer filament. A comparator compares the bridge output voltage with a reference voltage and provides a triggering signal to operate the device if the bridge drive voltage is greater than the reference voltage.
