A method for displaying and processing an image includes capturing the image, calculating one or more of a size, a position, and a field of view of a first region of interest (ROI) of the captured image, calculating one or more of a size, a position, and a field of view of a second ROI of the captured image, calculating a blur factor for blurring the first ROI, manipulating an image gradient of the first ROI pixel by pixel using the blur factor to reduce at least one of a brightness or a contrast of one or more pixels of the ROI, manipulating the second ROI by changing a color of one or more pixel values from the second ROI, and displaying the processed image on a display. An imaging system which includes an image signal processor (ISP) is also described.

Rearview device simulation

Systems and methods are provided for generating a rear view image display for a motor vehicle. A rear view system includes an optical sensor disposed at the motor vehicle and configured to capture image data, a computational unit coupled to the optical sensor by a cable connection and configured to execute program instructions stored on a computer-readable medium to modify the image data for presentation, and a display device coupled to the computational unit and configured to receive the modified image data from the computational unit and display the modified image data to a driver of the motor vehicle. The computational unit is further configured to receive software calibration to optimize modification of the image data.

Rear-view mirror simulation

A method for displaying and processing an image captured by an optical system used to simulate a rear-view system of a vehicle, includes capturing the image, identifying primary edges of a first image of the plurality of images, locating a first border within the first image that extends to part of a first edge of the first image, identifying secondary edges of a second image of the plurality of images, selecting a second edge from the secondary edges closest in position and orientation to the part of the first edge of the first image, locating a second border within the second image that extends to the second edge, and adjusting the second image such that a second part of the second border of the second image aligns with the first border of the first image, wherein the optical system simultaneously simulates both a plane mirror and a spotter mirror in form of a spherical mirror in the single image to provide a plurality of optical subsystems.

A calibration device for calibrating at least one camera system of a motor vehicle includes at least one calibration element having at least one carrier element and at least one marker element, where the marker element is or can be arranged on the carrier element and at least one connecting element, where the calibration element is or can be arranged on the motor vehicle using the connecting element. A motor vehicle and methods of using the calibration device are also described.

The method the assigns a priority level to the object based on a predetermined criterion. The object is altered based on its priority level to create an altered object. An altered object may have a changed color, a colored halo surrounding it, or a colored object inside it. Other possible ways to alter the way the object looks are possible. The altered object is displayed in the image in place of the object on a mobile device to alert a person of its presence and the priority level associated therewith.

The invention relates to an exterior mirror simulation with image data recording and a display of the recorded and improved data for the driver of a motor vehicle. The display on a display device shows the data in a way chosen by the driver or the vehicle manufacturer.
