An in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aid has a housing that is designed for insertion into an ear canal of a hearing aid wearer. The housing has a housing shell. The housing shell has an antenna, in particular a folded, capacitively charged dipole antenna. The antenna is mounted in particular on an outer surface of the housing shell.

A method and a device for locating faults along an energy supply chain for DC current systems. To provide a reliable fault location for DC current systems, at least one reference short circuit is generated at a known reference fault location of the energy supply chain and at least one physical property of the energy supply chain is determined during the reference short circuit. At least one physical property of the energy supply chain during the operational short circuit is determined, and a fault location of the operational short circuit is determined, taking into account at least the determined physical properties during the reference short circuit and the operational short circuit and the reference fault location.

A hearing aid has a hearing aid module for supplying electrical energy and has a transmitting and receiving unit for communication with another device. The hearing aid module has an accumulator and a charging circuit for charging the accumulator. The charging circuit is formed for contactless, in particular inductive, charging of the accumulator. The hearing aid module further has a charging conductor loop. The transmitting and receiving unit has a radio conductor loop and the radio conductor loop is integrated into the hearing aid module.

A computed tomography (CT) device has a stationary frame and a rotor, carrying an X-ray source and a radiation detector, which is rotatably mounted at the frame. A number of marks are provided at the rotor at known angular intervals, these marks being scanned by a sensor, which is attached at the frame and which emits an output signal given the passing of a mark. The number of marks is significantly lower than the number of projections that are picked up in each rotation of the rotor. A computing unit determines the projection angles pertaining to the individual projections by interpolation from the output signals of the sensor.

In a photodiode array suitable for use in an x-ray detector for computed tomography, the influences of direct conversion of x-rays into contributions to the electrical output signal and optical cross-talk between channels in the photodiode array are significantly reduced by integrating a number of extraction diodes into the photodiode array, with one extraction diode disposed between each two neighboring photodiodes. The anodes of all of the extraction diodes are connected together at a common anode contact, the common anode contact being connected to a voltage source which applies a voltage across all of the extraction diodes for operating the extraction diodes reverse biased, i.e. so as to block current flow.

An X-ray computed tomography apparatus has a gantry rotatably mounted in a frame for rotating an X-ray source, mounted on the gantry, around an examination subject disposed in a central opening in the gantry. The gantry has rails at an outer circumference thereof, and the frame has a first set of rollers engaging the rails for radially guiding the gantry and a second set of rollers engaging the rails for axially guiding the gantry.

A gas detector for x-rays can be easily taken apart for repair and service. The gas detector has plate-shaped electrodes which are plugged into spring contacts, the spring contacts being connected in groups to a conductor foil which is connected by means of contact projections to a printed circuit board. The printed circuit board carries electronic components for processing detector signals from the electrodes.

In an x-ray detector of the type employing a gas-filled chamber containing a number of electrode plates for detecting ionization event caused by the interaction of x-ray photons with the gas, a number of detector cells are formed, each detector cell containing two electrode plates disposed in a plane in succession in the direction of propagation of an incoming x-ray beam. In order to permit the acquisition of different spectral ranges, the electrical signals from the electrode plates are respectively conducted out of the chamber. The electrode plates are plugged into spring contacts and are connected group-by-group to a conductor foil. Each conductor run within the conductor foil has a contact projection for making electrical contact between the conductor foil and a printed circuit board, which carries electronic components for processing the detector singles.

A detector for computer tomography or digital radiography has an optimum efficiency and an optimum signal-to-noise ratio, and the thickness of the acquired x-ray beam can be selected in a simple way. The detector is formed by a row of parallel, bar-shaped scintillators. Every scintillator has a row of optical conductors extending in the longitudinal direction of the scintillator allocated to it. The optical conductors of a scintillator are separated from one another by slots, with the slots between the optical conductors of neighboring scintillators being in registry. Chips carrying photodiodes are plugged into the slots. Every scintillator together with the allocated optical conductors is surrounded by a reflector.

Detector for high-energy radiation

A cooling system for relatively movable components, such as a rotor seated for rotation with respect to a stationary component, includes a sealed channel in the stationary component disposed between the stationary component and the movable component, and an evaporator disposed within the sealed channel. The channel is filled with coolant, such as alcohol or oil, which is circulated by a pump in a closed circulation path. Heat is thereby conveyed from the system components to be cooled to the evaporator, and from the evaporator to a location where the heat can be dissipated without disturbing operation of the device. The cooling system is suitable for use, for example, in a computer tomograph for cooling the radiation detector.

In an exemplary embodiment, a measuring arrangement for irradiating the examination subject from different directions has a radiation source, a radiation receiver, and a computer connected to the radiation receiver for computing the attenuation values of specific image points of the irradiated body layer from the output signals of the radiation receiver. A collimator is present with a collimator grid compartment for each detector of the radiation receiver. Every detector is comprised of a scintillator crystal and a photoelectric transducer. The scintillator crystal is mounted on the surface of the photoelectric transducer such that the transducer is disposed between the associated collimator plate and the scintillator crystal. The scintillator crystal is coated, on its surface, with the exception of the surface confronting the photoelectric transducer, with an optical seal which can be light-reflecting on its side resting against the scintillator crystal.

A computer tomograph with a fan-shaped x-ray beam and two detector arrays. The two detector arrays are arranged in parallel and adjacent one another. Their lengths are dimensioned such that one detector array is suited for the head region, and the second, for the trunk (or body) region of the patient. The numbers of detectors of the detector arrays are equal, such that the division of the shorter detector array is finer than that of the longer one. There are connected, in parallel, to the input of the measured value converter two mutually corresponding detectors of the respective arrays. For each detector row, there is one light- and airproof chamber provided, and disposed between the two chambers and the two collimators there is a partition made of radiation-absorbing material.

A slide projector comprising a slide magazine with a motor drive, a motor-driven pusher for conveying respective slides one by one from the slide magazine into the path of the light of an optical system, and a guide unit for guiding the slides. A mechanical stop is provided for establishing the projection position of the slides and a spring is interposed between the pusher and its motor drive for transmitting force therebetween. For displacing the pusher there is provided a roller guided in a curved slot in a disk connected to the motor.

A device for supporting a patient, having a carrying member and a horizontally extending lying support for the patient, with a motor for varying the distance between the support and a medicinal unit. The invention is particularly characterized by the provision of a spring scale between the patient support and its carrying member, having a switching member which can be shifted corresponding to the weight of the patient. Switching means are connected with the switching member for interrupting the current circuit of the motor, the distance between the switching means and the switching member being adjustable.
