Hydroxyaldimines of formula (I), their reaction products, in particular products of their reaction with polyisocyanates, and compositions including isocyanate groups and containing such reaction products. The hydroxyaldimine permits compositions which have good storage stability, a long open time, low odour, rapid, bubble-free curing and good mechanical properties, and which are not susceptible to plasticizer migration and have a particularly low content of monomeric diisocyanates. In particular, it permits reactive hot-melt adhesives with a particularly good workability.

Solvent-free polyurethane hot melt adhesives which can be obtained by reacting a composition including a polyether polyol, a polyester polyol, at least one poly(meth)acrylate, and one or more fillers, selected from kaolin, fumed silica, soot, and wollastonite, with a polyisocyanate. In comparison to similar adhesives without a filler content, the adhesives are characterized by significantly improved heat resistance properties while the remaining properties are comparable. Furthermore, in some cases, improved mechanical properties, such as an improved tear strength, could be observed by adding the fillers. The aforementioned hot melt adhesive compositions are therefore suitable in particular for applications in automotive construction, in the textile industry, and in the packaging industry, and in particular for adhering sandwich panels.

Polyurethane hot melt adhesive based on polyacrylates with high heat resistance

A two-stage method for producing a polyurethane hot-melt adhesive, having the stages of A) reacting at least one polyol with at least one diisocyanate, the NCO/OH ratio being greater than 1.5, in order to obtain a reaction mixture containing an isocyanate-functional polyurethane prepolymer and non-converted diisocyanate and B) reacting the reaction mixture obtained in stage A), the mixture containing the isocyanate-functional polyurethane prepolymer and non-converted diisocyanate, with at least one polyester polyol, the NCO/OH ratio being greater than 3. The obtained hot-melt adhesive can be formulated as an R-40 classification-free and storage- and processing-stable PUR-RHM with a residual monomer content below 1 wt. % and has a good initial strength.
