The present invention relates to a doctor device for metering and/or leveling a liquid to pasty medium applied to a moving surface, the surface in the case of direct application being a paper, board or other fibrous web and in the case of indirect application being the surface of a transfer element which transfers the medium to the fibrous web. The doctor device includes a cylindrical metering rod and a pressure tube, with which the metering rod can be pressed against the moving surface for the purpose of metering and/or leveling the medium applied. Additionally, the doctor device is of modular design, having a top part and a bottom part, the top part being provided with a first holder for holding the pressure tube, and the bottom part being provided with a second holder for holding a clamping tube.

Doctor device

A device for applying a medium in the form of a liquid or a paste to a moving substrate, the substrate being a surface of a web of paper, a paper board, fibrous material and/or a transfer element including an application chamber, a first element, a second element and at least one limiting element. The first element is associated with the application chamber on an output side of the application chamber in a direction of movement of the moving substrate. The second element is associated with an input side of the application chamber. The at least one limiting element is associated with a lateral end of the application chamber. The at least one limiting element adjusting a width of application of the medium on the moving substrate. The at least one limiting element having a flexible sealing plate that substantially seals a space between the moving substrate, the first element and the second element. The sealing plate includes a fitted wearing body that is directed toward the moving substrate, with the wearing body being proximate to the first element and the second element.

Application device

A doctor bed is provided for holding a circularly cylindrical metering rod, including a housing of a homogenous material, which is designed with a cross section at right angles to the cylinder longitudinal axis of the metering rod and has a circularly cylindrical recess which surrounds the metering rod with a form fit over at least 180&#xb0;. The doctor bed is arranged on a machine processing a moving material web, there being arranged on the housing, in the region of the recess, at least one groove running parallel to the cylinder longitudinal axis of the metering rod. A wiping strip is arranged detachably between the metering rod and the doctor bed.
