An improved process can be used for the acid hydrolysis of polylaurolactam with sulfuric acid. An especially suitable starting material is polylaurolactam which is intended for recycling and which is characterized by a low laurolactam content.

Process for acid hydrolysis of pure polylaurolactam

A process has the ability to produce polyalkenamer-containing compositions. Stages of the process include converting at least one cycloalkene by ring-opening metathetic polymerization to obtain a polyalkenamer-containing product mixture, and working up the product mixture to remove at least one of a monomer and an oligomer of the at least one cycloalkene to obtain the polyalkenamer-containing composition. The working up stage is effected by a diafiltration.

The invention relates to a method for the purification of poly(arylene ethers) of formula (I) in which m=0 to 1.0, n=1.0-m, and Ar, Ar, Arand Arindependently represent divalent arylene groups. The compound of formula (I) is produced in a first step 1, with a raw product being obtained by bringing a metal or ammonium salt of divalent dihydroxy derivatives of Aror Arinto contact with one or more dihalogenated derivatives of Arand/or Ar, in the presence of a solvent LM1. A precipitate that is present, if appropriate, is separated (step B) so as to obtain a solution L which then undergoes a membrane filtration (step C).

The invention provides a method to produce primary diamines by catalytic conversion of diols having a linear main chain of from 4 to 31 carbon atoms into the corresponding diamines. The reaction is conducted in a liquid or supercritical phase and is catalyzed by a homogeneous ruthenium-containing complex. The primary diamines obtained may be suitable for polyamide syntheses.
