A utility knife has a housing in which a particle flow cross section is substantially constant or increases in a flow direction of particles from an inlet of the housing into an interior of the housing at an end of the housing to an outlet of the housing. A blade assembly has a blade with a cutting edge and is movable relative to the housing between a stowed position and an operating position for a cutting operation. A first actuating part and a second actuating part mounted movable relative to the first actuating part move of the blade assembly between the stowed and operating positions. First and second slotted links form a four-point linkage with the first and second actuating parts.

Utility knife

A utility knife has a housing having a longitudinally open front end, a blade assembly including a blade and movable in the housing between a front end position and a rear end safety position, and a lever pivoted on the housing. Two links each have one end pivoted on the blade assembly and an opposite end pivotal on the lever so as to pivotally interconnect the blade assembly and the lever for relative movement of the blade assembly and the housing between the rear end safety position with the blade inside the housing and the front end position with the blade projecting longitudinally forward from the front end of the housing. A spring is connected to the links urges the blade assembly into the rear end safety position.

A knife has two housing parts as well as a blade and a blade support. The support has a blade seat having a contact face normally engaging a blade face with the opposite blade face being freely accessible. The parts are movable between an operating position with the blade projecting and a stowed position with the blade wholly contained. A holder on the blade support secures the blade in the seat via interlocking formations that hold the blade against the contact face but that are so constructed that the blade has a degree of freedom in at least one direction in order to be detached from the blade seat. A latch on the holder has a bolt movable between a bolted position detachably fitted in the seat and holding the blade there and a released position out of the seat and allowing the blade to be replaced.

Blade assembly and knife therefor

A knife has a first part and a second part movably engaged to the first part along a path between an open position in which a housing interior is accessible and a closed position. A holding surface is fixed on and jointly slidable with the second part, and a third part is fixable on the first part, An actuator is movable on the second part between an actuated position and an unactuated position. An arm integral with or fixed on the third part is operatively engaged by the actuator and displaced on movement of the actuator between the unactuated position and the actuated position between a locking position securing the second part in one of the open and closed positions and a release position.

Knife

A knife has a housing, a blade having a cutting edge and mounted on the housing with the edge extending transversely of a predetermined direction. An actuator is movable on the housing and pivots a blade guard on the housing about a guard axis for movement in the predetermined direction from a safety position in which the blade guard covers the cutting edge of the blade into a cutting position in which the blade guard is spaced from the cutting edge and the cutting edge is freely accessible and from the cutting position in a direction opposite the predetermined position into the safety position.

A utility knife has a housing, a blade, and a blade support carrying the blade and supported on the housing so as to be displaceable in a straight line with the blade between a safety position, a cutting position, and a blade-change position. A torsion spring biases the blade into the safety position.

Safety cutter

The invention relates to a knife including a housing () inside which a blade holder () is movably mounted. The blade holder () comprises a main part () and least one holding part () which is movable between a holding position and a in replacement position. In the holding position, a blade () can be tightly retained in a replaceable manner in a blade seat between a first holding surface () of the main part () and a second holding surface () of the holding part (), while in the replacement position, the blade () can be removed from the blade seat or a new blade can be mounted in the blade seat. The invention is characterized in that in at least one relative position of the blade holder () to the housing (), the blade holder () is biased against a stop () by a restoring force, and in that the holding part () can be moved into the blade replacement position by having an abutment surface () on the stop () cooperate with a mating surface () on the blade holder ().

A cutting tool (), and a method of exchanging an interchangeable blade as well as a cutting tool housing, in particular for severing flat and/or strand-form materials. The cutting tool () includes a housing (), at least one interchangeable blade () arranged at a holding portion () of the housing (), and a locking member () arranged movably on the housing () for locking the blade () to the housing (). The housing () has first positively locking elements () and the locking member () has second positively locking elements () which jointly lock the blade () in a given position to the housing ().
