According to some aspects, a system for detecting a designated wake-up word is provided, the system comprising a plurality of microphones to detect acoustic information from a physical space having a plurality of acoustic zones, at least one processor configured to receive a first acoustic signal representing the acoustic information received by the plurality of microphones, process the first acoustic signal to identify content of the first acoustic signal originating from each of the plurality of acoustic zones, provide a plurality of second acoustic signals, each of the plurality of second acoustic signals substantially corresponding to the content identified as originating from a respective one of the plurality of acoustic zones, and performing automatic speech recognition on each of the plurality of second acoustic signals to determine whether the designated wake-up word was spoken.

Techniques for spatially selective wake-up word recognition and related systems and methods

There is provided a speech dialog system that includes a first microphone, a second microphone, a processor and a memory. The first microphone captures first audio from a first spatial zone, and produces a first audio signal. The second microphone captures second audio from a second spatial zone, and produces a second audio signal. The processor receives the first audio signal and the second audio signal, and the memory contains instructions that control the processor to perform operations of a speech enhancement module, an automatic speech recognition module, and a speech dialog module that performs a zone-dedicated speech dialog.

Measurement and tuning of hands free telephone systems

An echo compensation system may remove undesirable audio signals. The echo compensation system may utilize adaptive filters to remove echoes and undesirable signals received by a microphone. The echo compensation system may inhibit adaptation of an adaptive filter when left and right channel audio signals are highly correlated. In a two-channel system, inhibiting adaptation of one of two adaptive filters may reduce computational power requirements, while still removing undesirable signals. In a four-channel system, inhibiting adaptation of all but one of the four adaptive filters may reduce computational power requirements by a greater percentage.

Multi-channel echo compensation system

A system for reducing an echo and/or a residual echo in a microphone output signal includes an echo compensation filter configured to receive audio input signals and generate an estimated echo signal. A speech activity detector is configured to detect speech of a local speaker, and a combining circuit is configured to generate an echo compensated signal by subtracting the estimated echo signal from the microphone output signal. A residual echo reduction circuit is configured to suppress the residual echo in the echo compensated signal based on the detected speech activity, and output an echo suppressed output signal. The echo reduction system may reduce local background noise and residual echoes in a microphone output signal so that local speech may be transmitted free from undesirable signals.

Echo reduction system

A system reduces echoes in an audio system by de-correlating audio signals. Adaptive filters provide compensation based on the de-correlated signals. A controller controls the de-correlation based upon the adaptation state of the adaptive filters.

A noise reduction system includes a microphone configured to detect an acoustic signal. A first digitizer converts an output of the microphone into a discrete output signal. An acoustic sensor detects structure-borne noise, and a second digitizer converts an output of the acoustic sensor into a discrete acoustic noise reference signal. A noise compensation circuit processes the discrete output signal based on the discrete acoustic noise reference signal.
