A method for evaluating partial discharge signals. Partial discharge signals are captured, at only one point or at a plurality of points, near insulation of the electrical outer conductors of a multi-phase alternating current. The multi-phase alternating current, flowing in respective outer conductors, has fixed phase shifts relative to each other. Partial discharge signals are superposed on each other. At least one characteristic variable of the partial discharge signals is defined. Each partial discharge signal is assigned a phase position. A characteristic variable value of each characteristic variable is determined. Each partial discharge signal is assigned a number tuple from each characteristic variable value of the partial discharge signal and from the phase position. Clusters of the partial discharge signals in a multidimensional space with points formed by the number tuples are determined. A partial discharge activity is determined for each outer conductor from the determined clusters.

Evaluation of partial discharge signals

Apparatus for sensing a high-frequency event signal in a rotating electrical machine includes a HF evaluation apparatus, and at least two sensors arranged in the rotating electrical machine and designed to sense a low-frequency sensor signal. Each of the at least two sensors Includes an antenna for decoupling the high-frequency event signal from a high-frequency electromagnetic field of the rotating electrical machine. A common coupling element connects the at least two sensors to the HF evaluation apparatus. The coupling element designed to transfer the high-frequency event signal from at least one of the at least two sensors to the HF evaluation apparatus and to decouple the low-frequency sensor signal.

With a method and a device for detecting a partial discharge at a winding of an electrical machine, electromagnetic first measuring signals are detected in a partial discharge frequency range and electromagnetic second measuring signals are detected in an interference frequency range. A time window around a first measuring signal is predefined, and an identification criterion is defined for a partial discharge signal and an interference signal criterion is defined for a second measuring signal. A determination is made as to a partial discharge when a first measuring signal is detected that meets the identification criterion and when, in the time window around the first measuring signal, no second measuring signal that meets the interference signal criterion is detected. A quality of the detected partial discharge is assessed based on a characteristic value of the second measuring signal.

Detection of a partial discharge

A rotating element is mounted in a base body for rotation about an axis of rotation. An excitation circuit generates an excitation signal. A divider circuit divides the excitation signal into a base signal supplied to an evaluation circuit and into an outgoing signal supplied to a transceiving antenna. A waveguide circulates in an annular manner about the axis of rotation. The rotating element comprises a termination element protruding into the waveguide and has a reflective side. The transceiving antenna emits an electromagnetic signal into the waveguide propagating in two directions which is reflected from the reflective side and returned to and received by the transceiving antenna which generates in response a receiving signal supplied to the evaluation circuit which determines a position of rotation of the rotating element in relation to a reference position of rotation by evaluating the base signal and receiving signal in a resolution region.

Angular sensor with annular waveguide as material measure

An angular sensor includes a base body in which a rotating element is mounted for rotation about an axis of rotation. At least one transmitting antennae is arranged on the base body and each emits a transmission signal. A reflector element extends over part of the periphery, observed tangentially in relation to the axis of rotation, reflects each transmission signal, and is arranged on the rotating element, at a radial reflector distance from the axis of rotation. A plurality of receiving antennae are arranged on the base body, the receiving antennae receiving the reflected signals as a receiving signal and supplying the receiving signal to an evaluation device. The evaluation device determines the position of rotation of the rotating element by evaluating only the receiving signals or by evaluating the receiving signals and base signals determined on the basis of the transmission signals.
