The invention relates to an energy storage assembly, comprising a plurality of cells connected in series, wherein the series connection of cells is connected to a power output of the energy storage assembly and a control unit, wherein at least a part of the cells connected in series is connected to the power output and the control unit by way of potential-free controlled converter and control units connected in parallel, such that during the charging, discharging and recharging processes each of the cells is operated according to the individual performance characteristics of said cell by means of selective current drains by the converter and control units and a total current flowing at the power output of the energy storage assembly is formed by a base current flowing through the series connection of the cells and by additional currents, which are drained from the individual cells depending on the capacity of the cells. The invention allows for the interconnection of different cell types to form an energy storage assembly and for uniform charging or discharging thereof, thus facilitating optimal use of the energy stored and extending the total usage period.

Energy storage assembly and method for operating such an assembly

The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of two-channel or multi-channel pulse-width-modulated rectangular pulses. According to the invention, exactly one pulse is discharged within a period in each channel. The inception of a pulse in relation to the moment of inception is delayed by an actual dead time. The dead time is respectively kept constant for at least one period and a new value for the dead time is produced for a modulation of the pulse width and/or a new value is produced for the duration of the period and the actual dead time and/or the actual duration of the period is set at the beginning of the desired period according to the new value of the dead time and/or duration of the period.

Method and device for the production of two-channel or multi-channel pulse-width modulated rectangular pulses

A method and apparatus for generating an AC voltage in a system frequency range from a DC input voltage. Two opposite-pole, pulse-width modulated (PWM) rectangular pulses having a high switching rate are applied to the primary winding of a transformer. Every pulse is modulated to correspond to a half-wave of the AC voltage to be generated. On the secondary side of the transformer, the impulses of both PWM pulse trains are rectified to create a pulse train of a single polarity, the pulse width modulation of which corresponds to subsequent half-waves of the AC voltage to be generated. The pulse train so obtained is periodically commutated at double the frequency of the AC voltage to be generated so that a PWM signal representative of the AC output voltage is obtained with respect to amplitude, frequency, and polarity.

Method and voltage converter for converting DC input voltage to AC voltage in a system frequency range

A speed control device, whereby individual motor phases of an electronically commutated multiphase electric motor are supplied via corresponding individual phase shifters from a constant voltage supply unidirectionally and unpulsed during time blocks which are derived from stored time block pulse patterns specific to certain speeds. The speed control device permits setting a variety of speeds with relatively little expense and with low operating losses. The speed control device further provides a simple device for setting intermediate speeds by means of low-frequency switching between at least two time block pulse patterns.
