To detect a limit level, a multi-limit level measuring device is employed, which uses two different measured data evaluation methods. The measured data to be evaluated is acquired by a multi-limit level sensor arrangement which can use different physical measurement principles. In this manner, the likelihood of the limit level being erroneously detected may be reduced.

A vibration limit switch system and related method is provided with a piezoelectric transmitting- and/or receiving unit, in operable connection with a membrane that can be put in oscillation, and a mechanical oscillation arrangement that is coupled to the membrane, whereby the piezoelectric transmitting- and/or receiving unit is adhered directly, or via an adaptation layer by an adhesive layer, to the membrane. In this improvement, the adhesive layer between the membrane and the transmitting-and/or receiving unit or the adaptation layer has a thickness in an edge area R which thickness is elevated in comparison to a central area Z. This thickness is arranged in differing geometries and amounts to further improve performance.

The invention is for a method and apparatus for a pressure measuring cell for measuring a metered pressure, with a base body having at least one base body electrode and with a membrane body connected to the base body to form a sensor chamber, which has at least one membrane electrode and can be subjected to the pressure of a medium that is below the measurement pressure, wherein both the wall of the sensor chamber that is formed by the base body and the wall of the sensor chamber that is formed by the membrane body is covered with a protective layer; according to the invention, the protective layer is fashioned as a glass layer.

Method and apparatus for a pressure measuring cell

The invention is a vibration sensor with a carrying element capable of being set into vibration; a conversion device having a field coil to set and/or tap the carrying element into vibration; an anchor mounted in the field coil; and, a vibration element to transmit the vibrations from the carrying element into/from a surrounding space. The anchor is designed as two parts, having a permanent magnet and a coil core connected to the field coil, with an air gap arranged therebetween and lying in the area of the axial extension of the field coil. The permanent magnet is connected to the carrying element to transmit vibrations; and, the field coil and the permanent magnet are arranged to interact in such a way that any vibration of the permanent magnet induces current flow in the field coil and/or induces vibration of the permanent magnet in the field coil.

Measuring a fill level or limit state is performed using an electromagnetic vibrating system, in which a transmission signal(s) is generated. A vibrating body () is excited into a state of vibration by the transmission signal (s); and by means of the reception signal (e) that is then produced by the vibrating body () the transmission signal (s) is modified for at least one subsequent excitation of the vibrating body (), while a natural frequency (fe) of the vibrating body&#x2014;or a magnitude (te) dependent on the natural frequency (fe)&#x2014;is determined from the reception signal (e), and the transmission signal (s) is thereby modified.

A fill-measuring device for determining and/or monitoring the fill level of a container, includes: a membrane () which can be caused to vibrate; a rigid membrane rim () in which the membrane () is disposed; a drive device () having a drive end face () to impel the membrane () into vibration, and/or to convert vibrations of the membrane () into an electrical signal; and an attaching device () for attaching the drive device () to the membrane rim (); wherewith, according to the invention: a part of the attaching device () is disposed in a region extending between the membrane () and the drive end face () of the drive device (); and at least one pressure transmission element () is disposed between the membrane () and the drive end face () of the drive device (), in a manner such that the membrane () and the drive end face () are coupled together for purposes of transmission of vibration.

The invention relates to a measurement cell system, in particular a pressure measurement cell system, comprising a measurement cell and a memory unit containing at least one stored measurement cell-based stored value. A fill level measurement device senses the fill level of an object within a container. A fill level measurement sensor provides a sensed fill level signal indicative of the level within the container. A signal processing device is responsive to the sensed fill level signal and includes a first removable and replaceable component that includes a first memory device. The signal processing device also includes a second removable and replaceable component that includes a second memory device containing component customer parameter data. The second removable and replaceable component transmits the component customer parameter data to the first removable and replaceable component via a data link that electrically isolates the first and second removable and replaceable components, and the first removable and replaceable component stores the received component customer parameter data into the first non-volatile memory device.

The invention relates to a power supply device for energizing a modular measuring system. The measuring system comprises a modular display and adjustment unit and a modular low power sensor unit. Power supply device for low power switching sensors of a modular system

Described is a method for detecting and/or for monitoring the level of a medium stored in a vessel and in particular to a method for diagnosing the functionality of the electromechanical oscillation unit of a vibration level gauge. An electromechanical transducer of the electromechanical oscillation unit of a vibration level gauge is supplied with an electric wave signal. The frequency of which is beyond the resonance frequency range of the electromechanical oscillation unit and is thus not adapted to actuate the oscillatory portion as for example an oscillating rod probe or tuning fork, so that the electric wave signal is converted into mechanical oscillations without actuating the oscillatory portion. Subsequently, the converted mechanical oscillations will be recorded using the at least one electromechanical transducer of the electromechanical oscillation unit, which reconverts the mechanical oscillations into an electric wave signal. These recorded electric wave signals will then be analyzed to derive therefrom any transmission characteristics of the electromechanical transducer by comparing at least one of the signal characteristics of the reconverted electric wave signal with typical signal characteristics determined before. Finally, a status information will be edited subject to the analysis of the transmission characteristics.

Self-diagnosis of a vibrating level gauge

A process is disclosed for evaluating a measuring device comprising a capacitor (CM), with stages for charging the capacitor (CM) over an initial charging period (tk, tk) and for determining the capacitance charge as an initial measured value (tml). To determine a measuring condition that changes a normal state of the capacitance, e.g., moist as opposed to dry surroundings for the measuring cell, the process exhibits the following additional steps: charging the capacitance (CM) over a second charging period (tk), which differs from the first charging period (tk); determining the charge of the capacitance (CM) as a second measured value (tm); and comparing the first and second measured values (tk, tk) to establish the comparative result.

Process and a circuit arrangement for evaluating a measuring capacitance

A fill level measurement device includes at least first and second removable and replaceable components that each includes a non-volatile memory device. The device senses that the first removable and replaceable component has been inserted into the fill level measurement device, and provides a sensed signal indicative thereof.
