A method for controlling a deceleration system of a vehicle is disclosed, wherein the deceleration system includes a pressure operated brake system that is a first deceleration subsystem of the deceleration system. The method activates a second deceleration subsystem of the deceleration system for applying a current deceleration effect to the vehicle; generates an activation pressure for activating the brake system, and blocks the generated activation pressure to keep the brake system deactivated. The activation pressure is released and supplied to the pressure operated brake system for activation if the current deceleration effect applied to the vehicle by the second deceleration subsystem is lower than a predetermined deceleration threshold.

Controlling method of a deceleration system of a vehicle

A method for improving the force transmission between a wheel of a vehicle and the road is disclosed. The method has the following steps: determining target dynamics of a wheel; and, adjusting the dynamics of the wheel by a driving device of the vehicle by actively applying a torque to the wheel to set the target dynamics. A device, a vehicle, and a computer product are disclosed to execute the method.

Force transmission between wheel and road

A brake system is provided for a trailer vehicle having a plurality of axles, each of which has a wheel end on a respective side of the vehicle, the brake system including first and second pneumatic circuits for supplying air pressure to brake devices at the wheel ends. The system includes a spring brake modulator valve arrangement adapted to control pressure to spring brakes on the vehicle, which modulator valve arrangement receives an input from at least one of the pneumatic circuits and a control pressure from the trailer brake module. Flow of air to the brakes is controllable either by the trailer brake module or by the spring brake modulator valve arrangement to provide redundancy.

Trailer braking system

A brake system for a trailer has first and second pneumatic circuits for supplying air pressure to the wheel ends on the trailer. The air pressure to brake devices at the wheel ends is controllable via a first brake ECU. First and second pressure control valves control pressure from the pneumatic circuits to the respective wheel ends. The system further has a second ECU adapted to electrically control the actuation of the pressure control valves.

A connector in a commercial vehicle electronic braking and communication system for a trailer to connect the system to a prime mover. The connector includes an electronic control module with a first databus connection, which databus, in use, carries braking related data signals and to which a brake pressure control device is attached and a second databus connection, which second databus, in use, carries data relating to non-braking functions.

Method for stabilizing a tractor vehicle-trailer combination during travel

A trailer electronic braking system includes a braking device capable of generating a braking force on a wheel on the trailer, a brake force into the brake cylinders being controllable by a braking ECU. The braking ECU is connected to a standards compliant communication bus on said trailer and is adapted to receive data inputs from sensors on the trailer. An interface to trailer electronics and a communications interface are also provided. The brake system is further adapted to transmit a trailer identifier such as an SSID, such that the trailer identifier can be paired with a further device, such as a mobile telephone associated with a tractor driver, the further device having previously been provided with the trailer identifier.

A trailer electronic braking system is provided for a road train having a tractor and a plurality of trailers. The braking system includes a braking ECU on each trailer and a communication interface being provided so that the braking ECU on a first trailer and the braking ECU on a second trailer are able to communicate with one another. In use, the respective braking ECU on the first and second trailer receive an input from a respective sensor on the first and second trailer adapted to detect lateral acceleration and/or wheel speed. In the event that one of the sensors detects lateral acceleration and/or a wheel speed indicative of a loss of stability, the sensor generates a signal for actuating stability control, which signal is passed via the communication interface to the braking ECU on the other trailer, so that the other trailer can actuate stability control.
