A decoupling element, for decoupling a fuel injection valve from a cylinder head, includes a body that, in the mounted state, surrounds a housing of the fuel injection valve. The body is fashioned to include a cylinder-side support region to be supported on the cylinder head, and a valve-side support region for supporting the fuel injection valve. When the fuel injection valve is supported at the valve-side support region, the body is loaded with pressure. Only the cylinder-side support region of the body is fashioned in the shape of a closed ring, which connects segments of the body distributed around a circumference. The decoupling element enables the reduction of the transmission of noise from the fuel injection valve to the cylinder head.

The method has one method step. A fuel distributor, which is used, in particular, for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, internal combustion engines having externally supplied ignition, includes a distributor pipe, a first holder and at least one second holder. The distributor pipe has a longitudinal axis. In this connection, the first holder and the second holder are situated at the distributor pipe so as to be axially set apart from one another with respect to the longitudinal axis. The distributor pipe is designed to allow axial length compensation. It is also possible for at least one holder to be designed to allow axial length compensation.

The pipe is a non-magnetic second material in a second pipe region, the second pipe region being between the first pipe region and the third pipe region in the axial direction.

A fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines includes an electromagnetic actuating element having a solenoid coil, a fixed core, an outer magnetic circuit component, and a movable armature for actuating a valve-closure element, which cooperates with a valve-seat surface provided on a valve-seat element. The injector is characterized by its extremely small outer dimensions. The flexibility in the installation of fuel injectors of varying valve lengths, which is made possible very simply due to the special modular design, is significantly increased in this manner. An optimized dimensioning of the electromagnetic circuit allows for a DFR (dynamic flow range) greater than 17, the DFR being defined as the quotient of q/q.

A fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines. The valve includes an electromagnetic actuating element which has a solenoid, a solid core, an external magnetic circuit component, and a movable armature for activating a valve closing member which cooperates with a valve seat surface provided on a valve seat member. The valve has extremely small outer dimensions. By optimizing the dimensions of the electromagnetic circuit, the outer diameter of the external magnetic circuit component in the peripheral area of the solenoid is 10.5 mm&#x3c;D&#x3c;13.5 mm. This increases the flexibility in installing fuel injectors having different valve lengths, which are made possible due to the special modular design. The valve is suitable as a fuel injector in particular for use in fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, spark ignition internal combustion engines.

Fuel injector

A fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines is described. The fuel injector includes an electromagnetic actuating element having a magnetic coil, a core and a valve jacket as the outer magnetic circuit component and a movable valve-closure member which interacts with a valve-seat surface assigned to a valve-seat member. The core and a connecting tube in an inner opening of a thin-walled valve sleeve and the valve jacket on the outer circumference of the valve sleeve are firmly connected to the valve sleeve by pressing them therein/thereon. The fixed press connection between two of these metallic components of the fuel injector is characterized in that at least one of the component partners has a structure including grooves in its press area and/or the particular press area has an inlet rounding in at least one transition to an adjacent component section.

Conventional devices have a valve needle and a shape memory element which, by the application of a controllable magnetic field, executes a control stroke travel that operates the actuator, and having a coil that excites the magnetic field which is situated in a magnet housing which, at its end face, is bordered with respect to an actuating axis by a front wall in each case, the front walls having a through opening radially within the coil. It is a disadvantage that the magnetic field excited around the coil is conducted unfavorably, so that at most a slight magnetic field develops in the shape memory element. The shape memory element has a magnetic field flowing through it, in the direction of its longitudinal extension, if at all. Since the shape memory element has a high magnetic resistance and is developed to be very long in the axial direction, only a very weak magnetic field can be induced in the shape memory element. In response to the magnetic field that is weak at most, the shape memory element can generate only a very slight lift of the valve needle. In the device according to the present invention, a strong magnetic field is conducted through the shape memory elements, and in this way, a large control stroke travel is achieved. The shape memory element(s) is/are positioned generally only in the through opening(s).

A method and device for determining the hydraulic leakage rate of liquid-conveying parts, in particular injection valves for internal combustion engines, place the liquid-conveying part into a test body, and the liquid-conveying part is charged with a test liquid under a particular pressure, and a carrier gas stream is provided in a flow duct of the test body, and a vapor mixture behind the liquid-conveying part is conducted to an analyzer, and a measurement and analysis are carried out, using the analyzer, of the hydraulic leakage rate of the liquid-conveying part via the concentration of test liquid in the vapor mixture, the carrier gas stream being brought in via a nozzle element close to the leakage point of the liquid-conveying part, and/or a heating of the vapor mixture being provided behind the liquid-conveying part for complete conversion into the gas phase. The testing device is particularly suitable for leakage measurement in fuel injection valves used in fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing externally ignited internal combustion engines.

Method and device for determining hydraulic leakage rate in liquid-conveying sections, in particular, injection valves of internal combustion engines

A fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes an energizable actuator, a valve needle, which is in operative connection with the actuator and acted upon by a restoring spring in a closing direction to actuate a valve-closure member, which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat surface formed at a valve-seat body. The valve-seat body includes at least two spray-discharge orifices. The pressure of the fuel flowing through the fuel injector is greater than 10 bar.

A fuel injection system for GDI internal combustion engines, which has a second injection valve in the intake tube, and a method for operating this fuel injection system. By injecting fuel into the intake tube at intervals by means of the second injection valve, the formation of deposits in the intake tube and on the inlet valve, which are produced due to the recirculation of exhaust gas through the exhaust recirculation tube, can be prevented and possibly existing deposits can be broken down.

In a method and an arrangement for checking the tightness of a vessel (), especially of a tank-venting system of a motor vehicle, the vessel () is charged with a pressure generated by a motor-driven pressure source () and the motor current is determined. A reference leak () is selectively driven by a switchover valve () and is charged with a corresponding pressure and the motor current is determined. The determined electrical characteristic quantity and the determined reference characteristic quantity are compared and a conclusion is drawn therefrom as to the presence of a leak. To prevent the entry of moisture into the pressure source (), it is provided that at least the pressure source () is heated intermittently. The heating takes place preferably by driving the switchover valve () at a suitable pulse duty factor. To prevent the entrance of moisture into the pressure source (), a check valve () is provided and is suitably mounted in the connecting part of the pressure source ().
