A lighting device for a motor vehicle with a printed circuit board populated with numerous light-emitting diodes, an optical panel, and a reflector element between the printed circuit board and the optical panel. The reflector element is subdivided into numerous segments. Each light-emitting diode is dedicated to a segment, such that light emitted from the light-emitting diodes is reflected by the segments of the reflector element and passes through the optical panel. Each segment of the reflector element has a reflector foot. The reflector foot surrounds the respective light-emitting diode, and is in contact with the printed circuit board at a contact surface.

A lighting device for vehicles includes a light source unit containing numerous light sources, and includes a hologram unit containing numerous hologram segments for generating a predefined light distribution. A lighting device for a motor vehicle includes numerous light sources and a collimator with numerous collimator lenses. Each collimator lens has an entry surface and an exit surface through which light from the light sources passes successively. Projection optics include a first and second transparent substrates, each with an entry surface and an exit surface. At least one array of cylindrical lenses are on the entry and/or exit surface of the first and second substrates. Light exiting the collimator first passes through the at least one array of cylindrical lenses on the first substrate and then through the at least one array of cylindrical lenses on the second substrate. An illumination apparatus for a motor vehicle comprises: a light source, an optical waveguide with an incident surface and a reflective region; and a hologram arranged on or in the optical waveguide. The illumination apparatus is configured such that light emitted by the light source enters the incident surface of the optical waveguide in the direction of the reflective region, is reflected by the reflective region inside the optical waveguide in the direction of the hologram and interacts with the hologram. The average distance between the light source and the incident surface is at least half as great as the average distance between the reflective region and the hologram.
