An electrical connector includes an inner signal contact, an outer shielding contact, and a cover. The outer contact has a crimping portion including a first crimp wing and a second crimp wing that are bendable towards each other to attach the outer shielding contact to a cable such that ends of the first crimp wing and the second crimp wing extend towards each other when the outer shielding contact is attached to the cable. The cover is configured to cover a braid or a protective layer of the cable that is arranged underneath the ends of the crimp wings when the outer shielding contact is attached to the cable.

Electrical connector and connector assembly

An electrical shielding member for a network connector includes a receiving portion for receiving a cable end of a shielded cable and a contact beam extending from the receiving portion. The contact beam has a first contact point for electrically connecting the electrical shielding member to a counter shielding member of a counter network connector, and a coupling portion, provided at a distal end of the contact beam. The coupling portion is configured to be coupled to a corresponding coupling portion of a network connector housing. The network connector is configured for network communication at data rates of at least 100 megabits per second (Mbit/s) and preferably at least 1 gigabits per second (Gbit/s).

Electrical shielding member for a network connector

The present invention relates to an electrical connector including a first connector housing with a wall arranged substantially perpendicular to the connecting axis. The wall has an opening for insertion of a second connector housing. A first collar extends from the wall concentrically around the opening. A second collar extends from the wall concentrically around the first collar. The first collar and the second collar are spaced apart. A sleeve-shaped coding element is attached with a first end to the free end of the first collar. The first collar and the sleeve-shaped coding element are arranged concentrically around the opening. A sealing element is arranged in a sealing area between the first collar and the second collar. The sleeve-shaped coding element includes a supporting feature at its first end which is suitable for holding the sealing element in its position.

The present invention relates to an electrical connector system comprising a contact terminal, a connector housing defining an aperture that receives the contact terminal therein, and a cable strain relief member separate from the connector housing. The cable strain relief member comprises a fastening feature for fastening the strain relief member to a cable for strain relief, and an integrated locking feature for locking the strain relief member to a corresponding counter connector.

An electrical connector system with adjusted impedance is described herein. The electrical connector system includes a cable having at least two conductors and a shell element provided at least partially around the cable. Further, the electrical connector system includes a connector housing assembly that is separate from the shell element and is configured to at least partially receive the two conductors and the shell element.

The invention relates to a network connector assembly for vehicles. The network communicates at data rates of 100 Mbit/s and/or 1 Gbit/s. The connector assembly includes a header having at least two pins forming a pin pair. The pins extend in a mating direction. The connector assembly also includes an electrically conductive shielding member shielding the pin pair on at least two sides. The shielding member has a front face that is oriented substantially normal to the mating direction. The connector assembly further includes a header shroud, wherein the header shroud is provided with a shielding cavity for receiving the shielding member. The front face of the shielding member is at least partly covered by the header shroud.

Network connector assembly and system for vehicles

An electrical connector assembly comprising a connector housing; and a mate assist mechanism comprising a lever pivotably arranged on the connector housing. The lever is movable from a preliminary mating position to a fully mated position, and is configured to be releasably held in the preliminary mating position by a holding means. The holding means comprises a locking protrusion and a corresponding locking reception receiving said locking protrusion when the lever is in the preliminary mating position.

The invention relates to a strain relief/bending protection apparatus for a cable, in particular a high speed cable, connected to a plug connector, comprising a base section which can be fastened to a housing of the plug connector and a sleeve section projecting from the base section for surrounding the cable in a region disposed outside the housing, wherein the sleeve section continuously has a round cross-section and the cross-sectional area of the sleeve section reduces as the spacing from the base section increases.
