A rear module can include a tailgate configured to pivot about a pivot axis that extends transversely with respect to the vehicle longitudinal direction, and a frame element that extends transversely with respect to the vehicle longitudinal direction and is integrated into the tailgate. The frame element has a first fastening assembly at its respective ends. The first fastening assembly being set up to selectively lock the rear module in a closed state of the tailgate together with second fastening assembly which are configured on the rear-side vehicle body. A motor vehicle can have such a rear module.

A modular tail assembly for a motor vehicle can include a tail-side frame element and a tailgate. The frame element is configured to form a part of a tail-side vehicle frame and be detachably fastened to another part of the vehicle frame. A motor vehicle can include the modular tail assembly. The motor vehicle has a vehicle body which is formed so that a cargo tray is arranged in the region of a tail-side vehicle trunk. The modular tail assembly can facilitate easier and quicker tail-side loading of a motor vehicle and can increase the storage space available for loading within a motor vehicle.

A motor vehicle having a side door is disclosed having lower and upper parts. The upper part comprises a window surround for fixed and drop-down windows. The fixed window has a much larger barrel radius of curvature than the drop-down window and the inclusion of the fixed window reduces the chord length of the drop-down window between a beltline of the motor vehicle and a lower edge of the fixed window. This combination allows the use of more tumblehome on the motor vehicle without needing to increase the thickness of the lower part of the side door in order to accommodate the drop-down window when it is lowered.

The invention relates to a vehicle door for closing a door opening provided in a vehicle frame, and to a vehicle door system with the vehicle door according to the invention. The vehicle door has body panels, an inner panel which, in the fitted position, faces the vehicle interior, and an outer panel which, in the fitted position, faces away from the vehicle interior, said panels being connected fixedly to each other and delimiting a cavity. With the proviso of providing a vehicle door of the type mentioned at the beginning, which can be produced in a less complicated manner, it is proposed that an end panel for delimiting the cavity is provided as a further body panel at least on one narrow side of the vehicle door, and that the end panel is connected fixedly laterally to the outer panel and the inner panel.
