A brake operating arrangement () comprises a cam member () operable on a brake mechanism () for braking a wheel (). The brake mechanism () is movable between a braking condition and a non-braking condition. The cam member () is rotatable to move the brake mechanism () to the braking condition. The brake operating arrangement () further includes a drive member () movable in drive and return directions; and a ratchet mechanism () to rotate the cam member () when the drive member () is moved in the drive direction. Brake operating arrangement

A ratchet spool () for use in a winding assembly () is disclosed. The ratchet spool () is rotatable about a principal axis (). The ratchet spool () comprises a main part () and a plurality of ratchet teeth () arranged circumferentially around the main part (). The ratchet teeth () are engageable by a ratchet arrangement () for driving the ratchet spool () in a driving direction about said principal axis (). The ratchet spool () also has a drive formation () for driving the ratchet spool () in said driving direction.

Method of forming a pad
