Combination weight member and floor scraper machine

A walk-behind floor scraper machine for removing floor covering from a floor surface is disclosed. In one aspect, the machine includes a base frame, an electric motor secured to the base frame, and a scraper assembly movably secured to the base frame and driven by the electric motor. The machine also includes a rear wheel arrangement including a pair of wheels having a rotational axis. In one aspect, the machine includes a hydraulic circuit with a hydraulic pump driven by the electric motor and a hydraulic motor powered by the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic motor has a drive axle coupled to the wheels, wherein the drive axle is coaxially aligned with the rotational axis. In one aspect, the machine can include a hydraulic tank-frame integral to the chassis of the machine that simultaneously stores hydraulic fluid and structurally supports the hydraulic motor.

Walk-behind floor scraper machine

A floor stripping machine for removing floor covering from a floor surface includes a base, a motor secured to the base, a rear wheel arrangement driven by the motor, and a blade assembly. The blade assembly is secured to a remaining portion of the machine and has a removable clamp with a cutter. The machine has a forward downward sloping angle, a low center of gravity, and is obstruction free for mounting by an operator. The blade assembly may include a dovetail for a variety of tool heads. One example of a blade has a base flange, a pair of side flanges with forward leaning angles, and a hook in between each side flange and the base flange.

Floor stripping machine, blade assembly for use therewith, and methods

A floor stripping machine having the electric motor and hydraulic pump placed just aft of the blade engages adds weight to the blade and provides for a narrower more compact design with a lower center of gravity for better maneuverability and ease of access to narrow halls, doorways and rooms. A battery powered floor stripping machine may have batteries stored in the housing under the seat and have auxiliary batteries behind the seat on top of the housing for easy of removing the batteries for recharging. Additional batteries and or weights can be used on either side of the housing. In alternative embodiments the floor stripping machine can be remote controlled. Battery management with the auxiliary batteries being recharged during the day allows for eight hours of use. A trunk may store batteries, which can be slid onto a trailing cart to change batteries.

Battery powered riding floor stripping machine

A planetary grinding machine having a simple design with a minimal number of parts, which are all easily accessible for maintenance and repair is disclosed. The machine has a rotating planetary disk with rotating screeding disks attached. The planetary disk is driven by a shaft extending through a top housing cover plate, which supports a transmission driven by a motor. As the planetary disk rotates, a single belt engages a stationary gear on the cover plate and pulleys on screeding disk shafts to turn the screeding disks as the planetary disk is turned. The belts and pulleys for the drive mechanism are sandwiched between the planetary disk and the top cover to protect the mechanisms from dust and debris. The bearings are sealed to prevent dust and debris from entering and oil from escaping. The bearings, being on the inside of the planetary disk, keep oil from landing on the floor.

Planetary grinder

A take-up roll forming apparatus for flexible strip material comprises a motor-driven shaft journaled for rotation on a frame where the shaft extends through a circular plate that is affixed to the shaft. A plurality of magnets is affixed to the plate in a predetermined pattern. A reel having a tubular core is adapted to slip over the motor-driven shaft and the reel also includes a circular end plate having magnets affixed thereto such that when the motor-driven shaft rotates, it tends to carry the reel with it due to the magnetic forces attracting the magnets on the motor-driven plate to the magnets on the end plate of the reel. As the strip material being wound accumulates on the reel, and the effective diameter of the roll of strip material increases to the point where the supply source cannot keep up with the speed at which the strip material is accumulating on the reel, a tension develops in the strip sufficient to overcome the magnetic attraction forces, such that the reel slips relative to the motor-driven shaft to accommodate the speed differential.

Strip winding machine

A combined floor edger and grinder having a grinding disk which can be adjusted from engaging the floor while flat to engaging the floor along a front, back or side edge of the disk, depending on the height adjustment of the wheels on either side of the frame. The wheels, shroud and handle can also be adjustable relative to the frame for moving the frame straight back and forth or at an angle such that with the disk adjusted to engage the floor on one side of the frame the wheels and handle can be adjusted such that they are angled with respect to a wall for use as an edger whereby a user can push the device along the edge of a wall in a straight line while edging. The shroud and disk sizes may be easily changed for different jobs. The shroud can be open or close ended.

Combination edger and grinder for floors

A portable sewing machine powered by a battery can be used for carpet binding and other tasks. A pod having a motor and a battery are releasably attached to the side of the sewing machine and can be used on several different sewing machines such that only one pod need be purchased. The battery can be plugged into a plug on the pod to use a different battery while the first battery is being recharged. The battery-powered sewing machine can be on wheels for running on the floor for carpet binding, or it can be used in a stationary position. The portable sewing machine eliminates cords, which limit its use in carpet binding applications. The battery-powered sewing machine can operate in environments where no electricity is available such as in buildings under construction or sailboats needing sail repairs.

Battery-operated sewing machine

An angled shank blade for a carpet or tile stripping machine with a flat bottomed blade for engaging the surface of a floor. The leading edge of the blade having an angle of about 20 degrees, followed by a tapered top surface portion and a rear portion. An angled blade head attached to the rear portion and angled upward at about 20 degrees. A shank attached to the blade at an angle of about 20 degrees for receiving the weight of the floor stripping machine and keeping the blade parallel to the floor while lifting the flooring material over the leading edge, the tapered portion, the blade head and shank smoothly and efficiently without binding. The blade may have a carbide insert for long lasting skiving of material from the floor.

Angled shank blade

A pivoting twin roller for feeding a material to a sewing machine is disclosed. The twin rollers grip the material with serrated rollers, which rotate at the same rate for uniformly moving the material relative the sewing machine. The twin rollers press down on the material with equal force due to the central pivot point, which improves the feed of the material. The pivoting twin rollers also allow for automatic feeding of material to the sewing machine. A spring loading on the housing for the pivoting twin rollers applies downward pressure on the material being sewn for a sure grip thereon. The downward pressure also insures that the rollers will press down with equal force on uneven height materials since the pivot adjusts the height of the rollers to the height of the materials and thus prevents floating which can lead to jamming of the sewing machine.

Pivoting feed roller

An angled shank blade for a carpet or tile stripping machine with a flat blade for engaging the surface of a floor. A shank attached to the blade at an angle for receiving the weight of the floor stripping machine and keeping the blade parallel to the floor. The blade has a carbide insert for long lasting skiving of material from the floor. The carbide tip is easily replaced to keep the leading edge sharp. The carbide insert being held parallel to the floor by the blade such that it cuts at a preferred carbide blade tip angle of about 45 degrees with respect to the surface of the floor.

A hydraulically powered self-propelled stripping machine having an electric motor for providing oscillating motion to a cutting head member. The electric motor driving a hydraulic pump for pumping hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic motor for driving the wheels of the hydraulically powered self propelled stripping machine. The hydraulic system having forward and reverse as well as speed control valves for controlling the direction and speed of the hydraulically powered wheels or for stopping. The hydraulically powered self-propelled stripping machine also having a hydraulic pressure safety valve for protecting the machine and the objects it engages from damage.
