Systems and methods for short pulse laser eye surgery

A method for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye on the basis of an optical, contactless data capture. In the method for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye, which is based on a deflectometric method, the deflectometric measurements are carried out with the aid of a keratometric method by virtue of additional OCT-based scans being made at the keratometric measurement points, wherein the two measurement systems are registered to one another and both the keratometric and the OCT-based measurement values are recorded and used for mutual calibration to determine and output the topographic data. The proposed method serves to determine the topography of the cornea of an eye. It is helpful to ascertain the topography in order to be able to draw conclusions about possible pathological changes. Moreover, the exact measurement of the corneal topography is of great importance for correcting refractive errors.

Systems and methods for localizing intraocular lens and/or existing refractive index patterns, to laser write-patterns, and to refractive index patterns in order to modify the refractive index by application of femtosecond laser pulses. OCT-based confocal detection and sectional image systems are provided for localization purposes, the systems being particularly suitable for the detection of phase patterns in addition to the localization of the IOL. With respect to laser write-patterns, the modification of existing refractive index patterns in the IOL is carried out by destroying existing structures or supplementing existing refractive index patterns.

This design also renders it possible to carry out a method for improved focusing in order to improve the recording quality of the individual modalities. Furthermore, the multimodal measuring instrument distinguishes itself by an operating concept according to the invention. Such combination instruments are advantageous in that, as a result of the reduction from two instruments to one, less space is required than in the case of two separate instruments. Furthermore, reseating of the patient is avoided if recordings or measurements of different modalities should be made for one and the same patient, as a result of which the procedures in the medical practices and clinics can be influenced positively.

Flexible, multimodal retina image recording system and measurement system

The eye is illuminated by a variable laser light source with a measurement range corresponding to the eye length, wherein the focus of the laser beam in the eye can be shifted laterally and/or axially by an adjustment mechanism, and the light fractions back-scattered from the sample are captured via an interferometer by a data acquisition unit and forwarded to a data processing unit. In the data processing unit, an OCT whole-eye scan is combined with at least one or several further overlapping tomographic part-eye or whole-eye scans. A beam device, in particular a particle beam device, for analyzing an object is provided, as well as a system comprising a particle beam device and an optical microscope for optically analyzing an object. The beam device simplifies the exchange and reduces the time of the exchange of objects to be examined.
