A steam turbine having an inflow ring channel which is connected to an inflow connecting piece in terms of flow technology. The inflow connecting piece is designed in such a way that an incoming flow is first slowed down, subsequently accelerated and simultaneously deflected.

A first bearing is arranged on the first side of the hollow shaft and has a fluid connection to the oil collecting area.

The invention relates to a method for balancing a component (), in particular a rotor of an electric machine, using pins () which are introduced into prefabricated openings () in the component (). The component () is balanced in that pins () of different lengths, cross-sectional areas, and cross-sectional shapes are fixed in corresponding openings () in the component (). Furthermore, the pins () can be assembled from multiple elements (), and the method can be used to increase the balancing quality incrementally in one or more stages. The imbalance of the component () can be considerably reduced using said method, and simultaneously the weight, space requirements, and inertia of the component () can be reduced. In addition, the method can be automated.

A cooling option for a steam turbine is provided, wherein the steam turbine includes a high-pressure zone and a medium-pressure zone, wherein the saturated steam streaming out of the high-pressure zone is discharged via a saturated steam conduit to a first pressure chamber in a second flow channel of the medium-pressure zone and thus the possibility of the saturated steam causing damage by corrosion and erosion in the high-pressure zone is prevented.

A steam turbine housing is provided having a housing wall and a stiffening cradle attached to the inner side which has two encircling inner webs which are arranged axially adjacent to one another and which project radially inward from the housing wall. Between the inner webs, running parallel and axially centrally, a central web is attached to the inner side of the housing wall, the radially inner edge of which is straight, wherein at the radially inner edge of the central web, the central web forks in a Y-shaped manner inward into two transition webs which extend to and merge into the adjacent inner web, such that the inner webs are fastened directly to the housing wall outside the circumferential extent of the transition webs and are fastened to the housing wall via the transition webs and the central web within the circumferential extent of the transition webs.
