A panel is inserted into a cutout in the visible boundary wall of a fascia, in particular in a motor-vehicle dashboard, which panel contains an airbag cover which is delimited with respect to the panel and is pressed open in the event of a crash by means of an inflating airbag sack. The panel is secured releasably at least in some regions along the contour of the airbag cover and, in the process, outside the airbag cover, in a manner which is invisible from the vehicle interior, by latching projections being provided which are molded integrally onto the rear side of said panel and engage into associated sockets which are not supported on the visible boundary wall of the fascia.

A holding device for drink containers to be arranged in a central console of a car in front of a gear-changing or gear-selecting lever, has a holder having a linear guide and extendable from a pushed-in basic position into an extended holding position, the holder having a receptacle for insertion of a drink container, the linear guide being formed so that it causes a swivelling movement of the holder to a side during an extending movement of the holder from the pushed-in basic position to the extended holding position.

Known cross members consisting of an alloy press-drawn section do not permit easy assembly of the passenger airbag module or other bolt-on parts after the cross members have been installed. Accordingly, the press-drawn section of the cross member is provided with at least one groove open at the top in such fashion that a rib or a bar of a bolt-on part can be added from above such that simple pivoting enables a seating surface of the cross member to cooperate with a mounting surface of the bolt-on part in the installed state. Assembly is extremely simple. The cross members are used for the instrument panels of motor vehicles.

The bonded fitting of window panes or windshields onto the window-pane flange of the window aperture of a motor-vehicle body has a set bead of adhesive which is applied between those edges of the window pane which are on the inside and the window-pane flange. In this arrangement, in each of the two lower corners there is provided, between the window pane and the bead of adhesive, a respective pressure-sensitive adhesive strip with the adhesive or bonding force reduced on one side. The pressure-sensitive adhesive strip extends from the corners of the window pane along the edges of the window pane in each case for 60 to 120 mm. When removing the window pane the pressure-sensitive adhesive strip in these corners is easily detached without using much force from the inner edge of the window pane by tilting the rest of the window pane which has been cut free.

A vehicle body, in particular for passenger cars, with an opening, which extends over the entire width of the body between the windshield and the rear edge of the engine hood and is divided into a water-inlet region with a water channel arranged underneath it for the water running off the windshield, and into an air-inlet region for an air-supply device for the passenger cell. To prevent alcohol fumes from the washing water sprayed onto the windshield from being drawn in via the air-inlet region, the latter is formed by the inlet of an air-water channel, which is closed on all sides, has a connection for the air-supply device and is secured in the engine compartment at such a distance from the windshield that it bounds a wiper recess, which lies toward the windshield and the recess opening of which constitutes the water-inlet region and the recess bottom of which forms the water channel. Washer jets are arranged on the upper edge of the channel wall, bounding the wiper recess, of the air-water channel.
