A universal joint or a pivot pin cross with a universal joint pivot pin. A bearing bush seal is fastened to the universal joint pivot pin and absorbs an axially directed force. A universal joint is to be provided which is simple and can be manufactured inexpensively, which makes no compromises with respect to the sealing effect. For this purpose, a bearing bush seal is provided which deflects an axially directed force into a radial direction. This makes an axial stop at the universal joint pivot pin unnecessary. Moreover, manufacturing the bearing bush seal and the accommodation thereof at the universal joint pivot pin are accomplished in a single manufacturing step.

A bearing arrangement for a universal joint including a securing ring which is inserted in an annular groove of a universal-joint yoke with a form fit is arranged such that it can be adjusted. In this case, both the securing ring and an associated contact surface on a base of the universal joint bush have a contact surface which rises helically.

A universal joint having a spider provided with four staggered journals. A socket having an axial bearing in addition to a radial bearing is associated with each journal. The axial bearing has rolling bodies that are guided between a front surface of the journal and the bottom of the universal joint socket.

A universal joint bush for a universal joint of a universal joint shaft. In order to seal an annular gap, which is produced between the journal and the universal joint bush, a sealing ring is provided which encloses radially outwardly directed sealing lips. During assembly of the universal joint bush on the journal, the sealing lips, which are connected directly or indirectly to a radially inwardly directed rim of the universal joint bush, make a venting means possible, through which the air which is enclosed in the inner space of the universal joint bush can escape.

A bearing arrangement for supporting a universal joint trunnion in an outer cup includes a radial bearing having cylindrical rolling elements disposed between the trunnion and the outer cup, and a resistance member made of a material to allow elastic deformation and bearing upon a confronting surface area of an end surface of the trunnion. The resistance member and the trunnion are hereby so configured either alone or in combination as to form a large lubricant reservoir. Disposed at a distance to the end surface of the trunnion is a stop member to define an axial gap, whereby the stop member inhibits an axial movement of the trunnion after the trunnion has moved in axial direction to close the gap.

A displacement joint includes an outer joint part having circumferentially spaced recesses to form tracks. A tripod is mounted in fixed rotative engagement to a driveshaft and includes a tripod spider which has spherical arms spaced circumferentially in symmetric disposition for engaging the recesses. Roller bearing assemblies are fitted in the outer joint part to support the tripod arms, with each tripod arm guided by two roller bearing assemblies. Each roller bearing assembly has a bearing shell, which receives the tripod arm, rolling members fitted with clearance in a cage and disposed between the track of the outer joint part and a contact surface of the bearing shell. The cage is guided by shoulders of the outer joint part, which laterally bound the track, wherein the cage has opposite collars in parallel relationship to the shoulders for providing an axial stop for the rolling members and the bearing shell.

A sealing arrangement for a bearing bushing (1), particularly for a rolling bearing-mounted pin (6) of a cardan joint, said sealing arrangement comprising a rotary shaft seal (8) fixed against rotation on the bearing bush (1) by an armoring (3) and bearing sealingly against the pin (6) with a sealing lip (9), an armored fore-seal (5) disposed in front of the rotary shaft seal (8) and secured against rotation on the pin (6) while being supported on an end face (12) of the bearing bushing (1) wherein the rotary shaft seal (8) is made in one-piece with a rubber packing (15) of a sealing material extending towards the open end of the bearing bush (1) and forming a sealing lip (16) which is supported on an armoring (18) of the fore-seal (5).
