The invention concerns polysiloxane compounds as W/O-emulsifiers, in textile softeners, antifoams, foam stabilizers and agriculture chemicals, in particular as W/O-emulsifiers for cosmetic uses.

Hydrophilic/lipophilic modified polysiloxanes as emsulsifiers

The invention relates to linear copolymers of monomer units having both ammonium groups and polysiloxane groups. Amine oxide groups may be substituted for ammonium groups. The polymer backbone includes side chains having high densities of quaternary ammonium groups. The copolymers impart softening, antistatic, quick-drying and setting properties in the appropriate settings.

Polyammonium/polysiloxane copolymers

The invention provides silicone compositions (aminopolysiloxanes and/or ammonium polysiloxanes) which bind to fibrous substrates such as paper, and make the paper perceptibly softer and permit easy use of the paper in the paper production process, by leaving constant or improving hydrophilicity. The invention further provides polysiloxane-based compositions which can be flexibly adjusted to a given substrate and treatment condition by varying the ratios of the components of the composition.
