A configuration system for a test device designed for testing an electronic control unit. The test device is a hardware-in-the-loop simulator or a rapid control prototyping simulator, wherein a software model of a technical system is executed on the test device and the software model communicates electronically via an input/output interface of the test device with a system to be tested that is connected to the test device. Simulation data is electronically transmitted by the communication, and the configuration system is coupled to a modeling system and in the modeling system is a software model characterized by transversely and longitudinally connected function blocks. The configuration system configures the test device by interconnected configuration items such that the configuration items determine the physical characteristics of the input/output interface and/or the connection of the input/output interface with the software model.

Method of configuring a test device designed to test an electronic control unit, and a configuration system

A computer-implemented method for editing data object variants of at least one software tool is described and presented, whereby the data object variants have at least one common software/hardware attribute and in each case a configuration of the attribute. It is possible to react to changing configurations of hardware attributes of different data object variants and thereby to changing matching groups during the editing of a data object variant in that for at least one attribute matching configurations of the attribute in different data object variants are captured and that for the attribute information on matching groups of data object variants is stored with the matching configurations of the attribute.

A method for supporting a configuration of an interface is provided, wherein the configuration environment has an overview region that has several subregions. At least one item of information concerning a part of the configuration is displayed in each subregion. For each subregion, an item of information concerning the part of the configuration associated with the subregion is displayed. In the case of a warning and/or error message, a configuration option is displayed so as to be selectable, via which the warning/error message is resolved. The selection of the displayed configuration option causes a functionality to be started via which the displayed configuration option is made possible. Method and configuration environment for supporting the configuration of an interface between simulation hardware and an external device

A configuration device is provided for configuring a control system that includes at least one electronic processing unit and at least one associated I/O device. At least a portion of a control program is generated that corresponds to a configuration and is used for controlling the control system. The configuration device has at least one display device. The display device allows at least one I/O access point to be displayed in a model configuration field and/or at least one hardware functionality to be displayed in a function configuration field and/or at least one hardware interface to be displayed in an interface configuration field. It is possible to associate at least one I/O access point and at least one hardware functionality with one another and/or to associate at least one hardware functionality and at least one hardware interface with one another.
