A control arrangement for an ophthalmic surgical system for phacoemulsification of an eye lens includes an optical system for generating an image of an object region. At least part of the eye lens to be emulsified and part of a needle of a phacoemulsification handpiece can be arranged in the image. An image evaluation unit evaluates the generated image in such a way that an evaluation variable is generated which is dependent on a property of a particle produced by phacoemulsification of the eye lens or is dependent on a relation of the particle to its surroundings. A control unit generates a control variable in dependence upon the evaluation variable and, with the control variable, the control unit controls an absolute value of ultrasound energy which is supplied to the phacoemulsification handpiece by an energy source for phacoemulsification of the eye lens.

Ophthalmic surgical system and control arrangement therefor

A control apparatus for an ophthalmic surgical system for phacoemulsification of an eye lens has an optical system for generating an object region wherein at least part of the eye lens and part of a needle of a phacoemulsification handpiece are arranged. The handpiece is provided with an aspiration line; an image evaluation unit is suitable for evaluating the generated image in such a way that an evaluation variable, dependent on an occlusion of the aspiration line, is determined, which is a kinematic measurement variable and/or a geometric measurement variable and/or an optical measurement variable of a particle, produced by emulsification, of the eye lens to be treated. A control unit, dependent on the evaluation variable supplied thereto, determines a control variable to control an absolute value of a parameter of the ophthalmic surgical system.

The invention relates to a phacoemulsification device, comprising: &#x2014;a hand piece having a cutting tip for emulsifying a lens, wherein the tool holder is provided with piezoelectric elements for deflecting the cutting tip, &#x2014;a regulator, the input of which is electrically connected to the tool holder, for receiving an actual value that is proportional to the voltage induced on the piezoelectric elements of the tool holder that is constantly oscillating on the natural frequency thereof, said regulator being suitable for comparing the actual value with a predetermined target value, thus determining an actuating variable, &#x2014;a power amplifier, the input of which is connected to the regulator in order to receive the actuating variable, and the output of which is connected to the tool holder, wherein the tool holder may be actuated simultaneously with the receipt of the actual value and a power output to the tool holder being able to occur, such that a direct feedback coupling may be attained, thus enabling the tool holder to constantly oscillate at the natural frequency thereof with a deflection of the cutting tip corresponding to the actuating variable.

The present invention relates to a surgical microscopy system, comprising a surgical microscope, a stand comprising a base and a plurality of pivotally connected arms, the surgical microscope being mounted to one of the arms, wherein the pivotally connected arms are arranged to be movable with respect to each other such that the surgical microscope is movable relative to the base, and wherein a conventionally provided lead is replaced by one or more leads fulfilling the function of the single lead together. This current control curve can be determined in that the rotational joints are deflected with the electric motor into predetermined positions and the current demand needed therefor is detected.
