A process and a molding tool for making a motor vehicle roof part with a preformed plastic outside skin by deep drawing and at least one other layer which is connected to the outside skin by an adhesive. A spacer part with a large volume and low weight is placed between the inside of the outside skin and a glass fiber mat which is used as another layer and is spaced apart from it. A liquid or foam adhesive is applied in the mold tool between the inside of the outside skin or the inside of the glass fiber mat and diffuses into the spacer part. A very light and still very stable motor vehicle roof part with high production precision and surface quality results that has a plastic outside skin which, preferably, has already been colored according to the motor vehicle color.

Process for producing a compound motor vehicle component

A sunshade for a motor vehicle roof () with a shade screen () which can be wound onto a winding rod () and which is located underneath the roof, the opposing side edges of the shade screen are movably guided in the direction of shade motion on guide rails () and are held in the transverse direction with pre-tensioning of the shade screen (). To produce pretension in the transverse direction without tensioning elements or bars which are permanently attached to the shade screen and which would hinder rewinding, it is provided that the engagement elements, which are guided on the guide rails (), can be coupled to the side edges of the length () of shade when it is unwound to keep the length () of shade pre-tensioned in the transverse direction, so that the sunshade () located under an arched vehicle roof () can follow the arch of the roof, but can be disengaged for the shade screen () as it is wound onto the winding rod so as to enable the shade screen to be wound more compactly.

A sliding roof device for a motor vehicle roof with a movable cover ( ) for selectively closing or at least partially exposing a roof opening ( ) in the motor vehicle roof, the cover being raisable into a ventilation position at its rear edge, and with a sliding headliner ( ) which is movably located underneath the cover ( ) and which, when positioned under the cover ( ) in its raised position, is raised at its rear section for creating a ventilation gap. A lifting mechanism engages the rear section ( ) of the sliding headliner ( ), with a lifting force which pretensions the rear section ( ) into its folded-up position.

A motor vehicle roof with a series of sliding louvers for selectively closing or at least partially exposing a roof opening in a fixed roof surface, in which the louvers abut one another in the closed position and form a flat interconnected louver assembly that is guided along guides such that, when the louvers are displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the louver assembly executes translational movement which causes the assembly to be separate on a louver by louver basis by pivoting each individual louver forward in an opening direction, and to be re-established when the roof is closed. Each louver (10a-10e) in the closed position is sealed on each side of the roof opening by a hollow chamber seal (30) that has a sealing surface (36) which is engaged by the louver side edges (37). To reduce seal friction and for improved tolerance compensation, the sealing surface (36), faces upwardly the top of the roof at an angle relative to the louvers (10a-10e) and is inclined in a downward direction toward a longitudinal center of the roof opening. Furthermore, the side edge (37) of the louvers, in the closed position, engage the sealing surface (36) roughly in its center.
