Methods and systems for controlling movement of an e-pallet includes one or more sensors configured to obtain sensor data as to a user of the e-pallet, a second e-pallet, or both; and a processor coupled to the one or more sensors and configured to at least facilitate: determining, using the sensor data, a relative position of the user, the second e-pallet or both, with respect to the e-pallet; determining, using the sensor data, a relative orientation of the user, the second e-pallet or both, with respect to the e-pallet; and taking a control action for the e-pallet, in accordance with instructions provided by the processor, based on both the relative position and the relative orientation.

Virtual e-pallet interface

Systems and methods are provided for actively controlling a derailleur. A derailleur system includes a cassette including a number of sprockets, a drive unit that drives the cassette, and a chain linking the drive unit with the cassette. A derailleur is configured to guide the chain around the cassette, the derailleur including a swing arm rotatable at a pivot assembly to maintain tension on the chain. A lock selectively locks the swing arm from rotating.

Active derailleur system and method

A system is provided for shifting gears in a cycle. The shifter system includes a motor that delivers a torque to propel the cycle. A variable ratio transmission is coupled with the motor. A cable transmits movement to shift the variable ratio transmission. A cable pulley is connected with the cable and is rotated to move the cable. A lever is coupled with the cable pulley and imparts rotation to the cable pulley. A sensor is positioned to detect an initial input on the lever that does not rotate the cable pulley. A controller interrupts the torque from the motor in response to the initial input and prior to a shift in response to the transmission of movement by the cable.

A cable decoupling mechanism is provided for a bicycle having an unfolded state and a folded state. The cable decoupling mechanism includes a housing; a shifter pulley arranged at least partially within the housing and configured to receive a shifter cable coupled to a shifter of the bicycle; and a gear pulley arranged at least partially within the housing and configured to receive a gear cable coupled to a gear mechanism of the bicycle. The shifter pulley and the gear pulley are mechanically engaged together in the unfolded state such that the shifter cable is mechanically coupled with the gear cable for mutual actuation, and the shifter pulley and the gear pulley are mechanically disengaged from one another in the folded state such that the shifter cable and the gear cable are mechanically decoupled for independent movement.

The hub may include a shell, a shaft may extend through the shell, and a gear set may be disposed in the shell. The linked element may be connected to the gear set through a rotatable element. A rotatable component may be connected with the gear set. The rotatable element may be engageable with the rotatable component through the gear set. An engagement mechanism may engage and may disengage the gear set from at least one of the shaft or the shell.
