Superabsorbent fibers (SAF) in a feed stream is converted with UV irradiation into soluble polymers in a flow system. The UV total energy used to convert SAF into soluble polymers is less than about 50 MJ/kg SAF.

The first and second regions have a difference in values for an intensive property, wherein in at least one of the microzones, the first region exhibits a Contact Angle of greater than 90 degrees, as measured by the Contact Angle Test Method, and wherein the second region exhibits a Time to Wick of less than 10 seconds, as measured by the Time to Wick Test Method.

A plurality of composition elements is disposed on the topsheet, wherein each of the composition elements comprise an element width and an element spacing between adjacent elements, and wherein a ratio of element spacing to element width is between about 0.5 to about 8, as measured by the Composition Pattern Analysis.

Each of the plurality of treated aperture zones has one or more apertures, and each of the plurality of untreated aperture zones has one or more apertures. The plurality of treated aperture zones includes between about 25 percent to about 75 percent of the plurality of apertures.
